Very nice set of glass doors and screen. I'm replacing old with new in an old house. I had to cut 1 3/4 inches of the bottom in order to install it properly. Not a big deal. Looks great.

Looks beautiful in our living room! We got so many compliments. The doors are so easy to open and the screen inside is sturdy and very protective - makes me feel safe to have a fire with 3 little kids and a puppy running around!

Looks good and way easy to install. One thing that was different on our fireplace was we have an uneven decorative brick on the face. As a result the brackets that secured the top just made it with 1/2" to spare. Also the face is not flush as a result of the brick but you can't tell unless you're really inspecting it. All in all it looks great and is perfect for the 6-7 times a year we use it.

Our fireplace opening is 37 x 27 1/2 and according to Pleasant Hearth, the large was correct. The fireplace doors were too large and too high and therefore, could not be installed. Our contractor advised us to try the medium based on how the large fit. That one was too small with the doors not meeting the sides of the brick by an inch and we returned those too. We then went to a fireplace store and bought a third set of fireplace doors in large, and those fit perfectly for an easy installation. The Clairmont was attractive, packed really well, and we would have been happy to keep it, had the dimensions fit as stated in their sizing graph.

We loved the look of the fireplace doors but the doors were very crooked and no matter how we adjusted the hinge the doors didn’t close decent. The insulation they provided also did not stay in the frame once turned upright. Should have been thicker.

We were a bit confused in ordering the correct size because there are not measurments for the actual door/glass area and the opening measurements overlap between sizes. We finally ordered the small & it fit perfectly. Installation was easy & quick. We elected store pick up & it came a day early. The door set is definitely more efficient than the very old one we replaced and looks great.

Relatively easy installation, though I would advise that it’s a 2 person job. Doesn’t seem to come with enough insulation so we cut more. Looks good and definitely cuts down on the smoke that enters the house.

looks nice. installed easy enough. doors dont line up though (right door is off level by a couple degrees) an no amount of adjustment gets it square. makes it hard to close but barely noticeable when not in use. good enough for a bedroom I guess.

Missing parts just like the other reviews said. Quality control on the accessories for this unit is very poor! The overall look of the unit is great but I was not happy to have to go purchase parts elsewhere just to install this unit

Best Investment

This fireplace door is one of the best investments we have made in our home. Not only is it beautiful, and I love to look at it when we are not using the fireplace, I realized today how energy efficient it is. The door was not easy to install in our particular fireplace, which I knew was going to be a size issue when I purchased it. Our fireplace opening was not standard by any means and I chose not to special order at the prices that they charge. With minor modifications my husband did an excellent job of installing this door. It was 23 this morning and I decided to light a fire. When I opened the glass doors I felt the cold come rushing in and thought we had left the damper open. The damper was not open it was closed I truly appreciated how much this door kept the cold out and our heat in. It is amazing that it is not only efficient but beautiful and very simple to use.

The glass fireplace door was what I expected. The packing was good and It arrived undamaged. However, I had to customize the installation to accommodate my particular fireplace. The mounting brackets are designed for newer fireplaces. I have an older house originally built back in the 1940's. Although the house has been expanded and updated over the years, it still has the original fireplace. It did take me a few hours of creative engineering to get the upper brackets mounted securely. Also, they don't give you enough insulation to fully fill the gap between the brick and the door frame. And my local Home Depot does not sell heat resistant fiberglass insulation. I had to go to a local hardware store to get additional insulation.

The unit was easy to install. We have been using it for about 2 weeks. We using our Clairmount glass fireplace doors with a gas log and without the spark arrestor doors. We love the smoke glass, it help to hide the some of the accumulation of soot build up, from 40+ years of burning wood.
