This is quality wire that I used on the top of a reptile enclosure. It is strong and can support the lights needed. It is also very cost effective, I needed a small amount and didn’t have to pay for a gigantic roll that would just sit around unused. Well done Home Depot.

I was surprised that the quality of hardware cloth had gotten this bad. All of the edges are unfinished and sharp compared with the top and bottom being finished and reinforced in the past . I bought the heavyweight product and it was very weak and flexible compared to what I was replacing, so reused the old hardware cloth and only used this to cover some gaps. My husband and I were covered with cuts from it.

NOT "quite" 36 inches! only 35.5

I bought this to wrap a 36 inch cage, so it has to go back. I've worked with all sizes of HWC before and never had this happen before. It's 35.5 inches tall, not 36.0 inches tall.

Fencing arrived quickly. Perfect for our needs. Easily installed by one person. Sturdy. Think it will do job of keeping critters away from chickens.

The hardware cloth measured a little longer than labeled, which was fine. It seemed strong and well-galvanized. It worked well for retaining gravel under a fence for drainage.

Sections are rusty without any zinc coating.

I recommend it because it's cheap.

Quality is good. Personally using for the bottom of raised garden beds from voles and other pests from tunneling in to eat the food. Also using to create a small protection for newly planted trees from the local deer population.

Save your money, just bogus!

Save you money and your frustration! The wire welds that holds the grid together great when you cut the wire.

Amazing product, buying it weekly now

I must say, I was truly amazed at just how hardware clothy this hardware cloth truly is. I just can't get enough of it. I use it for everything now: in the kitchen, in the bathroom, as an extra comforter on the bed. If I can figure out how to clean my teeth with it, my life is complete.

As expected

Well made. High strength as expected. Using for under large compost bin. Will find out if it can withstand rain. Rare find 4 ft width. Happy at price.

Chicken and Garden Wire Cloth

The quality of the wire is very good. Well made. Just thought the wire might be a bit thicker. Multi purpose. Used on windows of chicken coops to keep predators out and also as garden fence to keep chickens out!

I used this for around the porch and deck skirts to keep out the rabbits and chipmunks that were prolific this year. I did bury it about 4-6" and it is working just fine. It was easy to work with and cut easy too with tin snips. I was worried that the 19 gauge would be too flimsy, but it has a nice semi-stiff body to it. Overall I was pretty happy with the quality and price.

Quality Control Issues

I bought a roll to complete a chicken coop project. The welds on the cloth fell apart when cut! Also, the rolls were excessively warped and wavy compared to rolls bought late last year. Looking closely at the metal, it appears different in texture and finish than the exact same brand rolls I bought last year. It is definitely inferior in quality to earlier rolls I purchased.

I bought the fencing to keep critters out of our yard and especially from camping out under my shed. I cut the pieces needed by weighting the wire down prior to cutting. It wants to curl on you. I buried part of the fencing in the ground about 6 inches where I could and attached the upper to the fence, gate, or shed with a staple gun. It also lets rain water drain through under the gates when necessary. My hunting dog tells me when something has entered my yard. He tells me it seems to be working just fine for now.

Needed some protection on a metal view fence to coral our cats in the yard. This did the job nicely without doing any permanent damage to it. Easily attached the mesh with tie wraps. It's a nice look and will safely secure our cats inside and keep other critters outside.

Sturdy, flexible panels make great tomato cages. Used tin snips to cut openings that allow for pruning and harvesting. Used hook metal tent stakes to stake to the ground and twine to fasten ends to make a cylinder. Just untie and flatten at the end of the gardening season for winter storage.

We built a snake-proof cage with this wire around the sides, & on the top. The bottom of the cage was attached using the green rubber coated 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch hardware cloth which is soft & protects the baby chicks’ tender toes. The 1/2 inch wire let’s their poop out, but also keeps the chicken snakes out. The cage is a rectangular box, with the wire stapled to wood strips, & a door& frame were built on one side, or the box is hinged on top for top access.
