Front Desk is an amazing book. It explains the hardships of immigration and racism. Mia is really strong and lucky, but not so lucky. I love how she tries to help her family with the business when most teens would be on instagram or Snapchat. It is a really great book and we be in my top 10 for sure.
Great book
I started reading this book aloud to my students (4th grade). I like that this book expresses feelings that typical kids in 4th/5th grade might be having. The story line of Mia standing up for her African American friend is great and shows what it means to not be a racist and to stand up for others.
