Received broken...twice

I ordered 5 of these platters. The first time all 5 came broken. The second time 1 came broken. I haven't even called them back. They make it so hard. The first time I was on the phone for over an hour. I have no idea why they can't wrap these individually so they can arrive in one piece.

Disappointing

I recently purchased this platter and paid full price for it. It has two flaws —one in the ceramic and one in the finish. I paid 80 dollars for a piece of junk. I won't be purchasing anything else from Mikasa as their quality and quality control has declined significantly over the years.

GREAT PLATTER

The size on the page does not do justice to this beautiful platter. It will easily accommodate our Thanksgiving Turkey and anything else we choose to serve; and of course it is, as always Mikasa quality.

A Real Mess

We purchased this as part of a large set service. The overall appearance is not of a high quality piece. The glaze is in a swirl as if place with a paint brush and fired too soon or too little or something. The overall quality is NOT to our standard. The item is a different white than many of the other pieces. None of which match in either colour or detail to each other. A real expensive mess. Never again.

Used to Love Italian Countryside

I have had Italian Countryside dishes for about 12 years. I still love the look of them and have never tired of them. However, over the last few years they have developed gray lines on some of the dinner plates, sandwich plates and bowls. Some of them even have an all-over pattern of cracks in the glazing. The company has not been willing to replace them.

Love these dishes and the pattern. I read all of the reviews before I purchased and then picked up a set at my local Macy's. I tested the plates & cups in the microwave before purchasing additional pieces. All of the other brands of dishes I have owned in the past have heated up so much after a minute, you could not hold them, 5 minutes and you burnt your hand. These dishes didn't heat up. My other complaint with other dish patterns was marking of silverware. Some brands marked or scratched with the first use. I am thrilled...NO marks on this pattern.
