A decent product I would buy it again

Better if the file cabinet had the files going from front to back instead of from side to side, because it’s difficult to get the files into the cabinet.

I like that it does not look like a filing cabinet and just a very nice piece of furniture.

DO NOT BUY!!! REASON WHY IT’S CHEAP NOW!

I don’t know what filing cabinet the others bought, but it is not this one! Yes, I followed directions, and no, I’m not an idiot. The metal frame and metal hardware simply cannot hold the cheap, pressed wood with the pre-drilled holes that do not line up. Therefore, it is out by the curb awaiting the dump. I’m out $100. It’s not even the money, it’s the HOURS of sweat I poured into trying to build this monstrosity only to watch it (and my nice filing cabinet dream) literally crumble apart. I tried many times to fix it because I wanted a nice filing cabinet and thought how beautiful this would look. The neighborhood learned a lot of new curse words after hour number five of numerous collapses. I know perhaps I should reach out to the company, or do something, but I never, ever, want to see a Sauder filing cabinet again. It’s going where it belongs. See pic of how “well made” it is. That’s just one tiny area. The metal bar also broke. Metal (key word) bar.

Have patience

You need to have a lot of patience putting this together. Lots of hardware, I left in the numbered bags to keep organized. Follow the directions to the letter. Best if you have another set of hands when putting the two haves of the frame together. some screws easily stripped out the particleboard so I used toothpicks to tighten the hole. One negative is the #25 screws that are used to attach the side panels are very soft and the heads stripped out trying to screw into the metal frame. (see the incIuded photos) Wound up changing out to a self drilling sheetmetal screw that worked perfectly. Not perfect but seems to be sturdy.

The quality is good enough for the sale price. Took some time to put it together, however the directions were detailed and easy to follow.

Nice product but missing pieces

The directions when trying to remove the #1 & 2 pieces is not very clear. Also got almost all the way complete and found a major piece was missing. Can't call over the weekend, now have to wait until Monday.

Filing cabinet you won’t want to file away!

Very solid and sturdy. Rivals pieces by others that are twice the cost!

Color was not as advertised, did not come with lock for the price paid, and lots of labor involved for the price paid.

This product arrived and was great quality even though 1 corner piece arrived damaged. Due to previous interactions with customer service it was easier to Jerry rig on my own.

Good but very hard to build

I couldn’t believe it was so hard to build.

The cabinet is solid and uses high quality materials.

Perfect replacement for my large Sauder office desk that included three file drawers. I no longer work from my home, having just retired, so a downsize was in order to free up some space for the grandkids in my former office.

Excellent product - very happy from start to finis

Excellent product for the money. Very attractive file cabinet that will be placed in our family room when I’m able to start my extensive filing. Putting it together was a procedure but the instructions were explicit. Just follow the directions as you would a recipe and don’t rush. I’m very pleased. Thank you Saunders and Walmart.

Building was complicated but everything fit together perfectly. The only complaint I have is that when you open and close the drawers, the file tabs “catch” on the top of the cabinet. Otherwise it is very sturdy.

Awful to put together

I couldn’t wait to write this review! It took me over an hours just to organize the plethora of pieces. I was overwhelmed! My living room looked like a furniture assembly plant from one item! I thought I was a decent assembler, but I had to rely on YouTube to help with several part. After 4 hours, I’m only halfway done.
