Do yourself a favor and purchase one of these if you plan on installing an outdoor light fixture. Forget using some type of plastic mounting stake. The four exterior fins go a long way in ensuring the post will remain stable in the soil. The interior also provides plenty of room for a 12 wire connection with waterproof wire nuts. An added bonus is the fact that the cap is slightly pre-dilled so you only need a ratchet to install the 2 screws provided. I bought this along with the Kichler 55 degree beam 5.3 W accent light. Made for a hassle free installation. Also, very happy with the speed of delivery by Lighting Direct.com. Both items were received within days of placing order.
