Need a new valve

We need to buy a whole new valve because the electronics were burned out when our power went out. As far as I can tell, we were never told that this should be on a surge protector. This valve is only years old and should not have to replaced because the unit could not deal with the power going on and off.

Exremely Disappointed

Controller twice (original and replacement) in 2 months has failed to work with no one understanding what the issue is. Extremely frustrated and trying to google an alternative to this unit without a whole new remodel situation.

Just finished remodeling one bathroom and the Moen Smart Controller did not work. Got a replacement at a cost of $50 for expedited shipping because we had guests coming. Took three showers and controller stopped working; again. Plumber came and unplugged it, waited 5 minutes, plugged it back in and it works. That is, for the time being. I don't want to go in the closet, as others have reported, to reset the shower controls. Also, trying to figure out how to reverse the shower spray buttons and Moen website is no help. I called and Moen App is down with no estimated time for it to be brought back on line. Moen has three systems, customer service, website, and app; and there is n connection between the three. the App and Website have different login -- its called single sign on. Demo starts on the second bathroom in two weeks and I am having serious thoughts about using something other than Moen. It's obvious this product is not market ready.

Shower is best i have every owned.

Installed this in my new home 2 years ago and it is a great shower. Works well. Could use some improvements to the app. You can buy a battery backup, but the app does not show you if it has good batteries or not. Probably an oversight that can be added later. Still a great experience.

I love this valve. The temperature is accurately controlled. No more trying to manually adjust a conventional valve.

Moen Smart Shower.

Well I have to say after reading other people’s comments I needed to chime in! I installed the system myself about a year ago and only issue was getting the black controller. But customer service was great and sent me a loaner to do my water tests and then when my 4 station controller came I. I was able to install. I honestly can say I LOVE IT! I have not had any issues thus far and keep reading not so good reviews but I have nothing to say but great things about this product. Only downside is I have hard well water so I have to deal with white calcium build up on controller.

when we purchased our home there was a moen system installed in the master shower. I worked most of the time. on occasion, we would have to unplug the control panel mounted in the shower to reset it, until one day it wouldn't. I called Moen, that system is no longer made. I purchased this model and the controller, i installed it and used it one time and it failed, returned it, installed the replacement and it worked for 2 weeks and then we were on a 2 week vacation when we came home, used it and it failed again. I just received the new on, installed it and after 2 uses, it's cut off. I'm sick of this, i'm ready to have the entire shower ripped out and have a standard valve system installed. I'm out so much money on shipping and installation i could have already done so.

Works stand alone with the controller, not the APP

Works but the setup is crazy dumb and over complicated. The APP needs work. Shouldn’t have to have to use other APPs to get the thing to work. Keep it simple Moen!

Cuts off erratically

We installed the shower valve in our master shower and have had nothing but trouble with it from day 1. The power goes out due to the design of the connections. I have to unplug the unit, wait 5 minutes, then plug it back in to see if it will power up. Or, I need to jiggle the wires several times to get power back to the unit. Usually, I need to do this several times. This last time it would not power back on for several days, then mysteriously it started working again.

I bought this 18 months ago and have absolutely loved it. I couldn't imagine going back to a manual control. Awesome ability to go back to the same temp/shower with the push of a single button

This unit is not worth the price point. Either it is set at this price point because they need to recover cost from R&D, or they are shoring up all the extra units that will eventually ship due to warranty claims. I have taken this unit apart and studied it because one day it just stopped working. It was past the warranty period, hence why I had to buy a new one. So all this to say you pay for what you want, but quality is a 3 to 4 star. So when it stops working, the customer service is very warm and helpful, but there are no exceptions when warranty is over. So this unit will get you about 1.25 years of service before entering the possible failure zone. If it was installed with Sharkbites, then the swap is easy.

I tried this about a year I've had replaced the control panel and also the valve box and it still doesn't work right. Do not buy that you'll regret it

Great product worth the cost

UNRELIABLE

I must reboot the device at least once per month by unplugging it. Less than 8 months in use. The shower is not functional when the moen is down. Make sure to install a value to by-pass the moen unit when it fails to function so you can use your shower.

Best feature is preheating your shower.

It is pretty sweet. Its nice to have programs set.

This was the best feature in our bathroom upgrade to our double shower and rain head.
