Trouble free for many years.

We have purchased an item similar to this years ago and had very little trouble. The cartridge will need to be replaced sometime between 10 and 20 years. We have very hard water so this is expected. Your results may vary.

Attractive, but...

We are very happy with the look and basic functionality of the trim associated with this valve, but the pressure is far less than what our old shower was. I have not checked yet with the plumber that installed the system, but I think the problem lies in once the water leaves this mixing valve, it travels to a diverter valve then to the shower head or handheld shower head. Too many valves reducing the water pressure. This is a 1.5 gpm system in order to conserve water, but that relates to volume, not pressure.

Moen--great choice

Valve for Moen shower/Posi-Temp---I read the reviews and even printed one out that someone had had issues with the valve sticking out and not sitting correctly... showed this to our contractor and plumber prior to installation and they said that most likely the person's plumber didn't install correctly....our plumber installed and we did not have any issues...it sits perfectly and the shower fittings/fixture is perfect over it. All is wonderful. Very happy with it.

I bought this along with a new shower install and everything seems to work. I am not a plumber so I don't have much input other than there were no complaints from the installer.

reliable valve

A well made valve with a lifetime warranty. Easy to disassemble to make for a quick install. Using the included plastic guide, setting the mounting depth went exactly as planned.

After 2 years the hot water side developed a crack and now leaks non stop.

We had this valve installed about 3 years ago. After 1 year we had to replace the cartridge. Now the tub began to leak hot water, so I figured okay time to replace the cartridge again.

Compatible with Moen Tub/Shower fixtures

Worked well with the Moen tub/shower fixture set we purchased as this was the suggested compatible rough in valve. Our plumber had no issues installing.

Avoid this valve & trim kit

Installation instructions are poor. Plumber followed them exactly and the valve sticks out 1” from the tile work after the trim kit. Bought the valve recommended on this site, so that is not the issue. Should have gone with Delta valve and trim kit.

Valve for Moen faucet and shower head install

Contractor needed this part to complete installation of a new Moen shower head. Price was comparable with other retailers, delivery was free and item arrived earlier than advised.

[Rewarded Review] Good Valve

Moen is a good brand and that is why I got this. I don't want to have to open up the wall to fuss around with this again. Very easy to install but takes a little more room than a normal mixing valve. If you are replacing one and have some studs or support wood in different areas you may need to adjust the wood or the hot and cold pipes.

Our contractor thinks it is great. What I did not like was needing to order it after I spent over $250 for new a new Moen shower faucet. Your description was very vague avout whether or not a valve purchase was necessary.

Great valve that takes all the Moen Trim kits. It is designed to be used with copper pipe on plastic. With added fittings it can be used with plastic but it makes the whole assembly 4" wider and taller. This can be a problem in some walls.

This shower valve was exactly what I was looking for. It was the best choice to accompany the trim kit my clients had already selected. The built in stops solved the problem of no existing shut off valves for the shower. Installation instructions were clear.
