Instructions are wrong

Instructions show a level line / installation guide that is 17.5” long. I installed the anchors at this thinking it could be trusted, but the bar is 18” long. Why put a drawing/blue print that is incorrect length in your instructions?

Missing part

I purchased this item for a powder room. When I opened the package one of the wall brackets was missing. I couldn’t connect with build.com to get the piece sent. The bracket is a unique shape, no one carries them.

Totally What I Was Looking For...

This towel bar design was perfect to compliment the wall hooks I puchased elsewhere. The 24" bars I used to hang the bath mats, so they would dry faster and stay cleaner than leaving them on the floor. The 18" bars were perfect for the hand towels and I used Preston toilet paper holders to hang wash cloths over the sink. They all blended very well with the hooks, which were not part of the Preston collection. The quality is very good and were easy to hang. Have received many compliments!

Nice Bar

I'm very happy with my new 18" Moen Preston towel bar. I had a handyman install it although the installation seemed straight forward. I was concerned about not hitting any wires behind the wall so I was extra careful. It's attractive and feels solid and well-made.

I purchased the 18" and 2 - 24" each towel bars (along with 3- Swiveling TP holders - another review). 1- 18" and a 24" went into one bathroom and the other 24" into a separate bathroom. Easy to install and good looking. I purchased chrome to go alone with my sink & shower faucets.

I love the design and the quality is good for the price. Very easy to install. That said, I didn't trust the small sheetrock anchors that were supplied, so I ended up making a backing board, mounting it to the wall stud, then mounted the rack to it. Overkill, yes, but very secure for mounting to my sheetrock wall. I would definitely purchase this again.

I needed to hang multiple bath towels in the bathroom. I didn't want to use a hook or peg because the towel stays bunched up and doesn't dry so well. These towel bars allow us to hang our bath towels out flat resulting in better drying. I can't comment too much on ease of installation because my husband put them up, but I do think not hearing him fuss while doing it indicates that it wasn't difficult.

The Preston trim that holds up the substantial bar is elegant in an understated way. It is very easy to install with invisible mounting and the chrome is nice and shiny. We are actually cut the 18 inch bar to 16 inches and attached it to the side of new vanity that we also got from Home Depot!

After buying another brand of towel bar that was impossible to install I read online about these. Boy what a difference! They were so easy to install, and didn't rock back and forth once installed. The price was right and they look great too. Highly recommend.

I installed myself and the included wall drilling template, wallboard anchors, screws and mounts all worked perfectly, The installation manual was clearly written and easy to follow. Packaging was professional. I think a quality product. I bought two of these (18" and 24") and they were both consistent.

OKAY SO I GUESS BECAUSE OF THE PRICE IT WAS PRETTY HARD TO PUT ON, IT TOTALLY DOESN'T EXPLAIN HOW TO PUT THIS ON I WAS GOING CRAZY I WAS ON YOU TUBE AND I DIDN'T FIND ANY VIDEO EXPLAINING HOW TO PUT IT UP I WAS SO ANNOYED I READ REVIEWS ON HOME DEPOT AND STILL DIDN'T FIND NO ANSWERS THERE'S A SMALL SCREW THAT COMES OUT WHICH YOU'LL NEED A SMALL SCREW DRIVER IN ORDER TO LOOSING IT UP. THE INSIDE PART DOESN'T COME OUT I THOUGHT IT DID THATS HOW BAD THE INSTRUCTIONS WHERE. SOMETIMES ITS BETTER TO BUY SOMETHING A BIT MORE EXPENSIVE. AND IF YOU A SINGLE LADY LIKE ME PLEASE HAVE A HANDYMAN AROUND. HOPE THIS HELPS AND IT LOOKS GREAT ONCE ITS UP.

I love the look of this towel rack, however it is not the shiny chrome that I expected to match my shiny chrome Moen faucet. I would call this finish satin nickel. This inaccurate (IMO) description is NOT the fault of Home Essentials Direct. It says right on the Moen box "Chrome". So, I am returning this towel rack and buying another that is shiny chrome.

Pros Nice chrome finish ( I got the chrome model ) easy to install with a drill 2 screw drivers ( jeweler and phillips ) Good instructions Some flexibility in mounting in case you don't drill the holes in exactly the correct spots Decent build strength , it can hold towels and won't fall off of the wall with normal use. Cons Mine came with scratches in the finish. luckily they are hidden from view or I would have rated this 3 stars .

Sturdy and nice looking. UPDATE: It's been about three and a half years and our towel rack is still holding strong to our family of four. The finish has not worn off and it's just as sturdy as the day we installed. Last year I slipped and on the way down grabbed the bar, the whole thing came down with me, however the bar was not bent and the hardware was not compromised. It seperated from the part that was anchored into the wall. I definitely do not expect a towel rack to withstand 140 something pounds hanging on it, so I definitely wouldn't deduct any stars. It actually makes me impressed because in two seconds my husband simply attached it to the main hardware that was still secured to the wall.
