Cheap not wood

Stuff is lightweight and easy to handle. It has a channel in the back that makes exposed 45s or 90s look awful. You can fill it with spackle. On the whole I'd rather use wood.

Ekena Millwork Chair Rail Moulding

I ordered 15 pieces of this molding to be shipped to my house. It was delivered by Fedex, packaged well, and arrived within about one week in excellent condition. It appears to be manufactured of a product similar to the spray foam that I've seen in some packaging, but every piece was flawless and had a nice smooth finish. I was able to paint it with standard water-based paint without problem. I used my miter saw to cut it at standard 45 degree angles for installation. It cut well and smoothly. It's extremely flexible and conforms to slight undulations in existing construction. I used it for ceiling trim. If you have a curved wall this would possibly be useful without modification, depending on the radius of the curve. I would purchase this type of product again, and would recommend it to others.

Easy to cut and nail, although you have to use locktite adhesive. Adds a nice detail.
