The sealer seems to have done the job. I applied it with a brush to our stone fireplace. It did not change the color at all nor cause an unnatural sheen. I only give it 4 stars because of the price. I did not have enough to finish 2 rows of rock. We live 20 minutes from town, but do have a little hardware store closer to us, so I checked there before driving in. They had a sealer of a different brand, but should do the same job, so bought it. Tested a small spot, looked the same, so applied it. Same result for $24 less.

This sealer is very tricky to use as any sealer that is not absorbed within 5 minutes after application has to be thoroughly removed with a dry cloth. Our contractor was not familiar with the product and let it cure overnight. As a result we had to spend hours cleaning streaks left deep in the marble tiles with a special sponge. Thanks God we thought our marble was ruined. Also the sealing was not great on the shower floor marble tiles after the first application. Given how tricky application of this product is, one does not want to have to apply this product several times.
