Poor finish for Alessi

Disappointed with this Alessi bottle opener and not what I had expected. The paint has more of a matte finish than the picture shows, and it looks like it's been decorated by a child. The paint was also peeling and the eye was wobbly. Sadly returning this purchase.

Ever since seeing French waiters use these corkscrews my husband has longed to own one. We bought a cheaper version which was ok, but this is the "bees' knees"! It works so well and feels so lovely to handle. It will not fall apart in no time either! A beautiful object that does exactly what you expect it to.

Form & function in beautiful harmony

Whilst the finish is more matt in real life, the ergonomics are perfect. Never a dull bottle opening!

Works well once you get used to it. The colors aren’t bright and shiny as shown the photo. The photo looks like the colors are more primary, but they are more Fall colors and the finish is matte not glossy. But it’s still very nice looking!
