This bolt attached well and feels secure. I found it a bit difficult to install, maybe my fingers couldn't get angled properly but it seemed to take ages! Once installed however, it's quite right and operating like a dream. The cane bolt does a super job!

Love that it came as a kit. It has everything you need to add more security to your gate. The black plated finish camouflages it a bit for added protection. It comes with the cane bolt, mounting hardware, and 4 tough screws. The instructions on the back help even the DIY novice install it properly.

The cane bolt is a solid sturdy product. It will definitely do the job it was intended for. Our new fence and gate needed something to keep my gate in place and I wanted it to look good and be sturdy enough to last through lots of use. This product did just that.

This National Hardware 18”x ½” Adjustable Throw Cane Bolt is just what I needed to replace the much shorter one that was on my gate. Its length makes it easy to reach with plenty of length to secure the gate. The design of the locking bracket keeps it from coming loose and dragging on the ground while trying to open or close the gate. The cane bolt can be used in either the horizontal or vertical position to add a little extra security to any type of door you have.

We got this product in pretty fast so we were able to put it to use quickly. We have a 20' gate opening which is covered with a 16' gate and a 4' gate. We use this cane bolt on the 4' since it doesn't get opened very much. I will say that when the 16' gate closes it can hit with a good amount of force and this cane bolt so far has held up and is not showing any signs of bending.

We have 2 pairs of very tall (12 ft) split barn doors, opposite each other at ends of barn and have been looking for way to tighten them up, particularly when wind is blowing. This latch is providing us an answer-- seems to work well for what we need-- will purchase 3 more and things will tighten up considerably

I received the cane bolt about a week ago. It gave me the push I needed to go finish my backyard gate. The Cane Bolt is a product designed to easily keep your gat closed. The bolt is easy to stall with just a few tools that i already had. The instructions on the packaging were easy to follow for the installation.

After putting in a new gate, the regular handle and latch were not enough to help secure the base of the gate - this is perfect. Not only does it help secure the bottom of the gate but reduces the risk of the gate becoming offset due to being pushed in/out at the bottom. Very easy to install but effective and simple solution.

The Cane bolt easily anchors one gate while the gate latch acts as a stop for the other gate. It seems very sturdy and well made. I installed it on a dog gate at the top of my stairs on my deck. Would recommend this cane bolt to others.
