Good Quality Folding Bookshelf

Beautiful and very good wood. When you fold it up you can literally stick it behind the sofa. I put the first together on my own but had hubby help with the second and it definitely easier with two people. Worth the price!

All wood but quality control missing on them.

I liked that they are very portable but they came damaged at the top where the hinge screws in and they split the wood . Also the wood has visible zig zag from joining and distracts from the bookshelf .

Bookcase Good, Assembly Not So Much

I love folding bookcases and this one is sharp looking and sturdy. However, putting it together took my friend and I 2 1/2 hours. I could not have done it alone. It was difficult to turn the Allen wrench because we were working on the floor. (We'll use a table for the second one). It was also hard to get the washer on the screw after we pushed it through the side piece and before inserting it in the shelf. There was not much room to maneuver. However, since we are two 70 year old single women, we are quite proud of our accomplishment. I love the final result.

Nice looking shelf! It will be perfect for my daughters dorm! The foldable feature will make it a breeze to move! Many reviews mentioned it was difficult to put together but my husband had it together in no time! He found if you just tighten enough to hold in place but it’s still movable to add the shelving. Once it was put together he tightening everything to make it sturdy. Only con would be the wooden screw covers won’t stay in. But that’s an easy fix with a bit of wood glue. Btw, it’s real wood! Very pleased! Great deal!!

looks ok, not easy to put together

Looks nice enough and does what it is designed to do. Construction isn't great, there is something weird about the holes drilled for the screws not threading them properly. Thr metal for the screws as well as the allen wrench is cheap/soft so there are two screws I couldn't get all the way tightened because the metal deformed and would not properly engage the allen wrench. I put it together myself and the steps seem easy to follow but it would have been easier with a partner to hold things in place while the screws were being tightened.

Very sturdy all wood shelf!

This bookcase is very well built.... solid wood. It can be used as a display shelf or as a bookshelf. My only negative would be that it came partially assembled and I wish it would have come fully assembled since it's a folding bookcase. I would recommend this to others.

Nice shelf; assembly takes 4 hands

The shelf is fairly sturdy and easy to fold for storage and transport if necessary. It is pretty. Assembly was very difficult for one person because the folding pieces kept folding on me. I am older and my hands don't work as well as they used to so the Allen wrench was awkward and hard to turn. Once assembly was complete I am happy with the product.

I love the case. Only reason for the 4 stars is I assumed since it was folding it would be assembled. It wasnt. A little hard for one person to assemble. Not confusing. Just another hand would have helped.

Good product but could be better.

Bought two of these folding shelves. Fit and finish not bad although one of the table top of the shelf had a knot and they just jammed what appeared to be just a piece of wood to cover it up. This product comes pre-assembled in a box but you still have to put it together. It is made of "solid" wood but the shelves and legs are all pieced "solid" wood. If you look closely, you could see were they jointed two solid pieces to make it appear as one solid piece. I would have paid more if they were just one solid piece. Also, I wished they offer this product in more colors and not just the "naked"/natural color. Overall, good product but it could be a little bit better.

FANTASTIC BOOKSHELF THAT'S EASY TO MOVE AND DURABLE

I purchased six of these about 10 years ago. I've moved four times, and since I'm a college professor, I load these shelves with books, binders of papers and notes, DVDs, even a laser printer. Now, after 10 full years, one shelf cracked, so I'm ordering another one. At $85, the cost for supporting all of my books and materials was only $8.50 a year, which is cheap at twice the price. I'm 63 years old and live alone, and I love it that these bookshelves are so easy to fold up and move. I can move them myself, and I'm not a strong woman. Other than unfolding the frame and folding the shelves into place, there is no assembly at all, which I also love. You can literally slide this out of the box, unfold it, and have it set up to go in no time at all. Opening the box takes longer and more effort than "assembling" the shelves. Yet the shelves are attractive and add to my decor. I would never buy any other type of shelf as long as these are available.

Bookcase that fit the needs

Great book case - Just the size I was looking for. Solid and holds the books nicely. Even though it folds up it is very solid when set up. No concerns of if folding up when you don't want it to. A little difficult to put together by yourself. It works best to have 2 people and 4 hands as the parts all kept wanting to fold up on assemble.

I have 4 sets of these. I love how they look, they are sturdy BUT the manufacturer has quality control problems. Target was helpful with respect to sending replacements for what I needed (although it was then a pain to have to go into the store to return these as they box is heavy and unwieldy). I would buy them again knowing that I might have similar issues because once they were together with "good" pieces they are a very good value for the money.

Attractive and sturdy

I love this bookcase! After reading some of the reviews I was a bit skeptical, but the assembled piece is well designed, sturdy, and exactly what I was hoping for. I assembled it on my own with no issues. I was careful with the screws, but had no problems with them. A few reviewers criticized the finish, but I find it smooth and attractive. A good value!

My mom - who happens to be 103 years old - needed a larger shelf in her sitting room and I knew just the right one for her! I ordered the winsome mission 4-tier folding wood bookcase. When it arrived I took it to my mom's and assembled it. She was quite anxious about replacing her other shelf and couldn't wait to transfer her items. She loved the wood and the style. It fits perfectly in her space and we are both very happy with the shelf. The assembly was easy enough.

Nice bookcase, hard to put together

I ordered three of these. The direction were not good on how to put together (no words). The first one was a nightmare and took about an hour to put together. However, by the third one, it took about 10 minutes. Maybe I don't read diagrams very well. However, these look terrific and am happy with the end prodcut.

Perfect for my needs

I bought two of these shelves, stacked and anchored them to the wall in the bathroom. My husband and I put them together and didn't have any problems with assembly. I removed the "idiot warning" from the bottom of each top shelf by applying hot air to them and peeling it off, so they look good from below. The size, style, and quality were excellent for my needs.

Good solution for shelving in a small space

I'd seen this exact product on several websites, Target's was among the least expensive, in some cases by a very wide margin. Delivery was fast, with no damage from shipping.

Agreed that it is not that easy to put together, but once I got the hang of it the second and 3rd bookcases went easily. it is solid and sturdy. I specifically was looking for this folding design, so I am happy with the purchase. You need to really think through the assembly before rushing into it. the instructions are not very good. laying it on the floor helped.
