I think these instructions and the manual and everything sucks. These are not screwing screws. There’s no pointy edge so do I need to get a hammer and a nail to first puncture the area of the general area and then hope it aligns with the legs. Those are not screw screws flathead what in the world this is not a mechanic shop this is a six-year-old woman trying to put a planter together.
The nest planter is expensive but worth the cost. We are growing tomato plants, lettuce and herbs for the garden. It sits outside the kitchen for easy access and it is off the ground and safe from wildlife.
This does not look as nice in person as it does in the photos. The gray color is much lighter, not a slate color at all, and the whole thing wobbles a bit (it's not very stable). I planted 2 varieties of tomato plants and a handful of herbs, I have had to water from the top twice now - the pull water to the roots system has not seemed to work as of yet. I am giving it a bit more time to see if the roots just need to take hold a but deeper, but as of right now, I would not buy again.
Small, but pretty
I bought two of these for my upper deck. I use one for herbs and it works well. The other I used for veggies and it's not enough space. One water indicator doesn't work at all and hasn't from the assembly. The other indicator worked mostly for about a month and now only sort of does. Would be ideal for flowers.
still getting used to it
This planter looks very good and the trellis feature is great for tomatoes. It becomes heavy when water is inside and you can't move it easily. I'm still not entirely sure how to use the self-watering feature. It seems as thought he soil is always moist from rain and hasn't dried out. My veggies and herbs are happy though so I guess it is doing the trick.

Great product
Great product, the trellis is a little unstable, but over all a wonderful addition to my garden. I also love the color and high quality materials.
So far, very happy!
I planted 2 cherry tomato plants, 1 bush cucumber, and various herbs. I used the trellis nest at each end of the planter for the taller plants. I purchased 2 bags (20 qts. each) of the organic self-watering potting mix and it was perfect. Everything looks great in the planter. I'll see how big they grow by summer's end. This is my first time using so I will adjust, if needed, for next year, depending on how large the tomato plants get.
The water indicator is almost impossible to see
I am using the planter to grow herbs and tomatoes - but I continue to water it by hand even though it is a SELF WATERING container because I cannot READ the water level indicator. The little window where the indicator is located is always fogged up and depending on the light outside, it is just impossible to read what the levels look like.
raised garden bed
I bought this to start growing my own food this year. It is a very high quality planter. I just thought it was pretty expensive. But I am not able to build my own due to my age. Still happy with the quality, but that's why I can't give it a full 5 stars.
