Recommended wrong ball not a touch lamp

The only complaint I have is that the recommended lightbulb that they recommended with this did not fit the kind of bulb it takes so I wasted money on a bulb and that wouldn’t work with the lamp. Other than that it’s nice style pretty simple to put together and touch lamp, as it said it was that was a lie. Yeah it is an OK lamp, but you have to physically turn it on and off only.

Affordable bright light.

The very affordable Joey torchiere Floor lamp is a great addition to any room. It has classic lines that with either traditional or modern décor. The shade is open to the top directing light up to give a lot of light to the whole room. It has a turn switch located at the top of the lamp which might be a little high for some of the people I know. The lamp is 71in tall which is the tallest one I’ve ever had. The cord is long but it seems to never reach where I need them. I haven’t decided exactly where I’m going to use it, but the beautiful thing is, that it will fit anywhere I need more light.

Packaged well, no damage (always a plus) super easy to assemble. Perfect lighting. Love it!!

Basic torchiere style floor lamp

The "Joey" model Torchiere floor lamp by newhouse is a pretty basic, lightweight floor lamp. It's made of aluminum and plastic. The base is weighted, but is not very heavy, so stability may be compromised in a home with children. There's nothing fancy or particularly impressive about it, so if you're looking for a higher-line lamp or one with a designer flair, this one isn't it. It does assemble easily. (Directions are enclosed in the pkg.) This lamp has a plastic globe, so maximum of a 60 watt bulb is indicated. I used a 9 watt CFL bulb in it and that provides adequate illumination for using it beside my recliner chair, without the heat coming from a regular bulb. The lamp does carry a 5-year warranty against defects in material or workmanship

Lightweight and sturdy

This floor lamp is very easy to assemble as the instructions are good and it takes about ten minutes to put together. The lamp is lightweight yet very sturdy. The light is good as the it is frosted dome yet allows enough light for ample brightness. The color white is very nice and clean looking. The base is very sturdy and allows it to stay in place very well. A good value.

Classic design

The Newhouse "Joey" Torchiere Floor lamp is a basic floor lamp. It weights just under 5 pounds and is 71 inches tall. The base measures at 9 inches in diameter and the lamp shade is 10 inches in diameter. The power cord is extra long at 75.5 inches which give a lot of flexibility in placement.

Compare apples to apples with this floor lamp!

This 71" high floor lamp is perfect for the side of a bed in my tiny guest room at my cottage! When rating this light, you have to compare apples to apples with other plastic fixtures at a similar price point because this floor lamp is not meant to be a high-end formal Livingroom torchiere floor lamp. This is perfect for dorm rooms, home staging projects, basements or anywhere you need a basic floor lamp. The plastic cover is flimsy over the weighted 9-inch round base but, once it's in place, you don't even notice it. The lamp shade is also plastic, but I like that when using in kids' rooms. This light takes a maximum of 60 Watts or the LED equivalent (bulb not included). When you put this together, make sure you start screwing in the metal poles from the TOP to the bottom so that the cord stays straight and the slack stays at the bottom until you're finished and can pull the cord tight to the base unit. From the base to the end, the cord is about 6 feet 4 inches long. When my daughter saw this fixture, she said she's going to get a bunch of them to use when she stages the houses she sells because they're light-weight, easy to take apart to transport in her car, won't break and look nice with any décor. They are at a great price point as well so you can't go wrong with this floor lamp if the qualities I listed are what you're looking for!

Nice Budget Lamp

I love my new floor lamp. It is just the right light for my hallway at nighttime. I put in a low wattage LED light to light the area at nighttime so that my grandchildren would have some nighttime lighting when they get up. The color white goes with anything. It is a budget lamp with a plastic cover over the weighted base as well as a plastic shade. Of course the shaft is metal but should one of the grandchildren (or my husband) tip it over, nothing should get damaged.

Basic lamp with mediocre build quality

This lamp is super simple and functional. It is pretty easy to assemble by screwing the rods together. The base is like a plastic tub filled with cement and then covered with a piece of white plastic. The light output is good and I like how tall it is. The quality of the components are a bit disappointing and feel like it was not made to last. I am glad I have a new lamp though because at the end of the day I just needed more light in a room.

Nice Lamp

Just received the lamp, it was easy to setup. nothing to it. Simple design, very cost effective looks good in my loft. I have it connected to a smart switch so it's voice activated now.
