This porch light is exactly what I was looking for. I got the satin one and I am using a Sengled multi-color smart Wi-Fi bulb in it so I can make it whatever color I want, and my Alexa app automatically turns it on/off at dusk/dawn each day. :) I do have to empty out the dead bugs about once a month, but I would think that is probably the case with any outdoor light with a globe.

It was a really beautiful, aesthetically-pleasing & contemporary light fixture while it lasted: the glass fixture came crashing to the ground because apparently it didnt screw in very well into the wall mount base. I sent it back in for a refund. Lets just say Im staying away from glass fixtures that screw in and hang vertically! Can be quite dangerous if we had been near it when it fell to the concrete!

THIS IS THE PORCH LIGHT THAT I ALWAYS WANTED. I want straight simple 1980's GLOBE styling, and I want HIGH QUALITY with GOOD THICK METAL. This one is GREAT. BEST DEAL on Home Essentials Direct. It is very well built. Nice little ring-seal around the top of the globe, clearly a good choice if you've got some rain falling on it. No problem-O, buy it now! Wish I had more houses, then I could buy more of these porch lights. (O;

Quality Made. Heavy metal. Looks just like the pic. Easy to install, no matter whether you have a square or a round electric box. Comes complete with all screws, washers, wire nuts, foam gasket, etc to install. Its a breeze!! And I really like the screw-on glass globe instead of those damn little knurled screws that always seem to jump out of my hand and into the bushes! DEF RECOMMEND THIS

Inexpensive, simple and superior quality, I'm NEVER going to get a fixture with a built in LED again. My last 'state-of-the-art' built in LED patio light didn't last 6 months before having to recycle. Why bother? I live the modern design and MY OWN ability to put the type of bulb I want to use in it or replace a bulb if it goes bad. I used this in one of my rentals and liked it so much, I ended up putting in on my own patio. I bought 5 of these to replace a couple older fixtures of a very similar design and to add a couple new ones. All four of them are installed and have been working for a couple months (the fifth is a spare). Everybody is very pleased with them. The globe is threaded, so you don't have to fumble with screws when a bulb needs to be replaced). The fixtures are nice and sturdy (cast aluminum) and have a good fit and finish. The mounting screws that are included were apparently intended for a different type of electrical box, so we had to dig up some different screws, but apart from that they installed easily as shown in the instructions. I was a bit puzzled about where the rubber O-ring was supposed to go. I tried putting it under the knurled nut you used to fasten the fixture to the mounting strap, but the O-ring just squeezed out around the nut instead of staying trapped between the nut and fixture base.

My old one (dusk to dawn) made in the usa finally gave out after 15 years. There are some similar ones available, plastic housing, like my original one, but design is marginal. Came across a vintage Lithonia lighting on Ebay, which is almost identical to this one. Took a lot of looking but found this item on Home Essentials Direct - great. Regarding this fixture: Nicely made housing, a square gasket between the fixture and the wall, nice quality accessory pack. Note that (in my case) old work - rectangular boxes - the screws provided do not fit. Seem to be 6/32, used the ones that were there when I removed the old fixture - 4/40. The "jar" screws in - just great after dealing with tiny setscrews - AND it has a gasket. No bugs in the light, and because of the square wall to fixture gasket they can't get in the back way either. I found the hand nut that fixes everything to the wall difficult to grip, the O ring is an extra seal around (not under) this nut. If you have difficulty these hand nuts are available in solid brass and easier to grip at HD. I'm not sure if you can fit an A21 (100w) into this fixture. The Cree A19 4Flow in both 40w & 60w fits with clearance. It is possible to fit the miniature 3wire photocell that HD has, but in this housing it points skyward. Might fit on the side, close to the wall. Did not need to try this for my use. Bronzotic is a color description I have not heard before - at anyrate it looks black to me. While installing it in daylight there is a hint of brown. Overall, it's perfect - love it - recommended product. Some mfgs still make good products.
