Seems strudy and is attractive after it is installed. At first, I thought it was too small for my nominal 6x6 post but after I moved it around and tapped it down with the palm of my hand it went on snugly.

Regardless of what the listing says, unfortunately these are the nominal 4x4 NOT actual 4x4 which is what I needed. Thank goodness Home Depot makes returns easy.

I wish I used these 27 years ago. Fits a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 6 x 6 perfectly. Price was right especially if you can use 6 or more.

The product size is misleading! It is not 6”x 6”; the actual size is 6” x 5-3/4”… and obviously doe not fit over a 6” x 6” post!

Home Depot has this advertised as a 6"x6". It is actually a 5.5"x5.5". That will not fit a 6" post and therefore completely erases the need for the product entirely. In what situation would a 5.5" cap fit a 6" post?

Looked like someone else had ordered it, mistakenly believing it would fit a post that was true 6x6 instead of 6x6 ‘nominal’. There was no protective shrink wrap on it like the other one I had also ordered, and it had scratches and marks on it.

These caps are of sturdy metal construction. I ordered several caps and about half arrived with small scratches down to the bare metal. They are shipped with a very thin clear plastic covering which allows them to rub against each other. Also, the cap is not exactly square. The ID is approx. 5 3/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches. I was able to squeeze them into a square with some clamps which added time to the project.

Description stated that it was 6" x 6" but the sized is really 5 3/4" x 5 3/8" and would not fit over my post. Had to return to Home Depot and order the post caps from another company.

NOT 6x6

These do not fit a 6x6 post. They are actually 5 3/4 with rounded corners so they don’t fit down over a 6x6 post properly at all. Home Depot needs to change this description as it is wrong.

NO THE PAPERWORK SAID 5 X 5 THE CAPS CAME IN 4.5 X 4.5

They are not true 6x6 like advertised. They do not fit.
