Rolling Kitchen Island

The Create -a-Cart kitchen cart in white with black granite top was a perfect addition to our kitchen. This was exactly what we were looking for. The instructions to build were clear and simple. The wheels make it easy to move around and roll away as we use it for an island in the middle of the kitchen.

Quality Piece of Furniture

We are so pleased with this island. It had the best instructions for assembly that I have ever seen. Every screw and parts are plainly marked and instructions easy to follow. Every piece is WOOD, not some simulated, wood look cardboard. I can highly recommend this product and the company.

5 Stars

What a lovely addition to our kitchen. It also has tremendous amount of storage. The product was easy to assemble and is very well-built and sturdy. Love it!

Beautiful small kitchen island

This kitchen cart is far superior to similarly priced carts on another internet shopping website. I had purchased one from **** and had to return it. This item on BB&B cost about *% more, but is much better quality. The panels are all solid wood-not the "engineered wood" used in products from ****. (As such, the cart is about 30% heavier and MUCH more durable.) The color of the wood ("natural finish") is much more pleasing than the all-white or all-black carts (unless you have an ultra-modern kitchen!). Some of the assembly is already done for you (for instance, installation of the drawer rails). I experienced only two problems: (1) the holes for the shelf-support pegs are (just a little bit) too small-I had to ream out the holes with a 3/16" drill bit to be able to seat the pegs. (2) The wood plugs which cover the head cap screw holes have a tendency to fall out (even after being hammered in). A drop of wood glue will solve that problem. We're very happy with the finished product.

Extra cupboard

Bought this for extra counter space and storage in my kitchen! It fit the need perfectly. I like that the wheels lock for stationery use and then roll it away to clean the floor!

Makes a great bar cart!

I bought my cart in 2012 or 2013. I've turned it into a bar cart. It looks great, it's held up nicely and it holds a lot of stuff. I love it! I'm sorry the pictures are a tad old, but you can see the flexibility in use. The door wasn't fully closed, they are hung straight. You do have some installation issues. I superglued the shelf pegs once I had them where I wanted them because they kept falling out. Holes too big, I handled. Holes too small would've been an issue. Definitely check how your pegs fit before going to the trouble of putting it together. It will be easier. Lol! I love my cart and definitely recommend!

Easy assembly great looking kitchen cart

Great looking kitchen cart. If you are strong enough, you can even put on the granite top without anybodys help. One of the handles, the screw did not work. Overall easy to put together, couple of hours at most. Solid structure with wheels. I replaced the cabinet handles anyway to bring a classier finish.

Great Kitchen Cart!

This was a challenge to put together, but boy was it ever worth it. We love this new piece of furniture. It is exactly as advertised. The granite top is beautiful. I paid extra picking this one so I would get the granite top I wanted...there were other cheaper ones almost identical, but I wanted solid granite. Beautiful piece of furniture in the dining room, next to our galley kitchen.

Has Some Design Issues

I've purchased and assembled this cart a year ago at the time of this writing. It's a good size for our small kitchen and provided us additional counter/storage space without installing more cabinets. We essentially leave it stationary and leave the wheels locked to keep it in place. The amount of storage space is great for the size and I use the side shelf for salt, pepper and frequently used spices.

[Rewarded Review] Kitchen Island Cart

The cart is way over priced for the quality you get. The cart is cheaply made with mostly pressed woods except for the top. There are flaws in the design of this cart such as some of the metal fasteners where the cap screws bolt the frame together come lose or come completely out when you tighten them up and you end up having to drill other holes and use wood screws instead. The drawer tracks are not aligned properly that causes the drawer bottom to scrape the drawer cabinet frame as it slides shut, therefore you must re-adjust the drawer track which can be difficult. Some of the peg holes for the metal pegs that hold the shelves in place are too small and must be drilled to size and some are too big. If it weren't for the fact that I would have to completely take this cart all apart again and put it back in the box from which it came, I would return it to the store.

Received product in timely manner. Well worth the price. Good directions and well numbered for following directions. I am a 75 year old woman who read the recommendations before purchasing. Noted several that indicated a problem closing the drawers after assembly and hoped the problem was corrected. No such luck. One drawer closed, but not the other. After careful examination, discovered the slider units on each side of the one drawer not closing properly had been installed backwards at the manufaturers. Unscrewed the sliders. Switched sides and put the wheels to the back. Redrilled the holes to bring sliders closer to front edge and drawer now closes properly. This problem could be easily corrected at the plant. Highly recommend this be done asap.

Bought this island online and had it shipped to our local HD store. Got it home and put it together. The granite top had a crack all the way across and a chip. I advise anyone who orders this island to have it shipped to store and inspect it before you take it home. We will have to return the entire island to our Home Depot store. Otherwise, it was not hard to put together and is a nice island. The drawers are not deep enough to hold much except silverware. I thought the manufacturer could just simply replace the granite top since they are shipped separately but they refused to replace just the top.

This product is beautiful and very well made. As far as my assembly problems, I had a defective drawer divider and one of the drawers could not be used because it was resting higher than the other drawer once I inserted it into the runners. Once I got my new drawer divider and a new drawer, it was perfect. As I mentioned, the materials are well made. I took the defective drawer apart many times thinking I was assembling it incorrectly, but that was not the case, and it held up very well. As far as the assembly instructions, they should indicate on the instructions that the front of the drawer should be in a certain position when assembling it because there is a difference in the amount of space on the top vs. bottom of the inside of the front of the drawer. If you assemble it with more space at the bottom, it will hit the bar beneath the drawers. Also, I didn't notice it soon enough, but all the pieces are labeled with small letters. Once I saw the letters, it was easier to identify all the parts and to make sure they were all there. I'm a 64 year old female and I put this together myself, with the exception of someone helping me lift the granite onto the top of the cart.

Nice appearance, bu Disappointed in function

I like the appearance and storage capacity, but the quality of the construction is disappointing. I paid for a professional assemble it. The last step is the drawers. The side bars of the left drawer was not in the proper place. The only way to insert the drawer was to raise the top up some. Customer service gave me a small credit, but now we are having problems with the other drawer. I should have just sent the whole thing back, but that would have meant disassembling and also being out of the money I paid to have it assembled. Don't buy it.

Just what we wanted and expected

We spent a lot of time looking for a cart in this price range and read all the reviews before ordering. In our 40 years of marriage we've put together hundreds of toys and furniture pieces and I can honestly say that this was the easiest piece we've ever assembled. All pieces were carefully packed and labeled and the screws etc were all packaged separately and labeled for their particular use. No trying to figure out what each thing was or where to use it. That alone was such a blessing. The marble top looks great as does the entire piece. The back is not terribly sturdy but it looks fine and performs as it should-- it is the back! The only thing to watch out for is putting the front and sides of the drawers together. When you join the sides to the front go ahead and slip the bottom in the groove so the sides and front are lined up properly. One review talked about the front of the drawers hitting the top of the cart. That's because the front and sides weren't lined up correctly. We did the first one wrong and had to redo it using matchsticks to keep the new hole from being too big to hold the screw. Thankfully we knew how to do that. Save yourself the trouble by following my directions the first time . When you get to that step you'll understand what I mean.

Great once assembled!

Once this product is assembled, it's great! Unlike most carts with two or three small cabinets, this one has the big middle cabinet that I was looking for, to fit larger items. I also like that the shelves are adjustable on the inside (there is one shelf per cabinet). It's the perfect size for my kitchen, and it seems to be relatively high quality (real wood except for some of the side/back panels. The only thing is that the top piece moves around after installing it. I don't really mind this but it would be nice if it was a a little more stable. Also worth noting that the drawers are not very deep. , ,,, , ,,,,,,,,,,,,, As far as the quality of the pieces - I read all of the reviews for these carts, and I really think it's hit or miss whether you get one with or without problems. I think most people will have at least some issues with this. For me, one of the doors came with the spring-loaded pin that replaces the hinge stuck in, rendering it useless (Overstock is replacing). There was also a small chip on one side, but I took care of that with a black sharpie. Other than that - the holes the cabinet pins were supposed to fit into were on the bottom of the piece, not the top - so we had to drill new holes for that. , ,,,,,,,, , ,,,,,,,,,,,,, Assembly - if you have any kind of difficulty assembling Ikea furniture and don't have a handy friend you can invite over, this piece is not for you. The instructions are not quite as clear as Ikea instructions and the pieces don't quite fit together all that well. The drawers were kind of a nightmare - the holes you have to drill into are just not big enough - after struggling through the first drawer I pre-drilled the holes on the second one and that helped a lot. All in all it took my husband and I (two children of contractors) probably 4 hours to get fully assembled. If all the pieces fit properly together and the holes were in the right spot, maybe 2-3 hours. I would also say that you need a drill, not just a screwdriver. , ,,,,,,,,,, , ,,,,,,,,,,,,, OVERALL - Great product for the price (as comparable items that are already assembled are $500-$1000)

Great quality, fair price

The cabinet was shipped quickly in two boxes and was very securely packaged with no missing parts. They are heavy, so plan on having two people carry the boxes inside. My husband and I had this assembled and put in place within a couple of hours. Even though I am familiar with assembling parts and pieces, I was glad he was with me, as more than two hands were needed while putting the side walls up and securing them. Be sure to actually read the directions as you go, as it's important to do the steps in order! All in all, we are very pleased, and it gives me more storage space for my mixer, blender, and other bulky items I simply did not have room for in my smaller kitchen cabinets. The two drawers were also very welcome, as other models did not include this additional storage. This piece of furniture has opened up a whole new realm of very attractive storage/workspace, and it exactly matches my existing kitchen, right down to the marble top. I do wish the marble were thicker, but it certainly matches the description given and we are very happy with the purchase. Money WELL SPENT!
