Careful which ones you choose...

These hinges that we got from Houzz were absolutely superb. They look to be the same as the ones sold by Crown City; they were out of the Oil-Rubbed Bronze ones, forcing me to look elsewhere. Luckily Houzz came through. Other ones from less demanding stores are anywhere from OK to terrible. Look at the pictures I posted. The first two show barrels which are kind of rounded and mis-aligned. The flanges under the ball finials are thin and also mis-aligned. Note the light showing through the barrels in the second picture. Now look at the last one. That's the hinge I got from Houzz... the joints are tight, the flanges are thick and well-aligned. Not all hinges are created equal, even though all three hinges pictured were similarly priced.
