Just okay

Just okay. Doesn't give a great flavor like the big name brand does. Definitely get what you pay for. Used in a Pit Boss electric smoker for both pork ribs and beef brisket.

Constant issues

We bought our pellet grill early summer. So disppointed brought it home put it together and I’d Didn’t work had to order new thermostats. Took it apart and back together again. Worked pretty good for a few months then stopped again. Unplugged left it sit for a couple days tried it again started working. Now a few months later again. Won’t heat. So frustrated with this grill.

I purchased this grill on Sat. Oct 5th 2024. Today is Friday, Oct 11th. In the week since I bought it I have been on the phone every day except one!

Great Product

Love this grill. Well built, high quality and the improvements they have made are great. Like with everything else, if you take care of it, it will work well for a long time. There is learning curve with this grill/smoker, but once you nail it and learn you're own grill, it will work great.

Love my Oklahoma Joe Rider 900. I had it for several years now and its working great,

Not so good

Bought this grill a week ago. Got it home put it together and it immediately threw a ER2 code. Called customer service and told them what it was doing and they dlsaid the mother board was bad. How does that happen to a brand new grill? So anyways I got my new warrantied mother board yesterday and installed to lay it today and it won't even power on. So again guess I'll have to call them tomorrow when they are open and see what the plan is. I do not recommend buying this grill. I'll probably take my losses and go back to a Pit Boss which I've been using for the last 8 years and will probably have to continue using since this brand new oklahoma,joe pellet grill isn't working and was faulty as a brand new unit.

Beware

Worst grill experience I have had in 25 years of grilling. Replaced multiple parts multiple times and still can't use this grill. Have to wait on hold for over 30 minutes every time I call customer service. Finally got a manager involved, but he never called me back like he said he would. After multiple attempts to fix they offered to give me part of my money towards another grill. I bought it at Lowes and got a very good deal due to it being the floor model and now Oklahoma Joes only wants to give me that amount of money towards another grill that I don't have any faith in. Very disappointed in both the product and customer service.

** Buyer Beware ** .

Being a business owner. I'm always sensitive to customer reviews. I understand the implications a negative review can have on a brand. So I do not take this lightly. But, after multiple bad experiences when using this product over the last 2 years. I feel compelled to provide my experiences, my opinion and a "buyer beware" disclaimer. Should be noted, of all my bad experiences with the product. The Tech Support Team has been phenomenal. If not for that team, I probably would have scrapped this unit a long time ago. Each time I have called TS and once we determine the issue. They've always sent the parts immediately and without hesitation. However, at some point you have to be honest and accept the obvious. The 900DLX is a horrible product. No way to sugar coat it....If a there's a "Lemon" title for smokers that existed. The Rider 900DLX would be a strong contender for the title. IMO, Oklahoma should cut their losses, provide some type of buyback program for 900DLX owners and just go back to the drawing board. That would speak volumes to customers. Rider 900DLX Smokers look great, but they are very problematic.

Excellent smoke

These pellets give great, consistent, smoke that adds delicious flavor to anything in your grill.

No great feature. It won't work

They tell me that parts that have been garage ket can not be warranty even though they are malfunctioning and that they are literally in the business of outside products. I have a smoker that has brand new parts all the way through minus the shell and it will not work. Keeps giving the er2 code for igniter even though if you leave it on the igniter will glow red how even when the power button is off. I have more faith in giving a homeless guy money and him not buying achahol then I do this smoker. Don't buy from this company unless you like wasting your time trying to trouble shoot something you shouldn't have too.

Competition Blend

I have never use this product, but it definitely compares to other brand. I normally use actually it's probably better in my book. This product happens to be cheaper as well as adding more flavor to my Smoker

Don’t buy this product

Upgraded to this size pellet smoker and now using my old smaller smoker. The electronics on this went out a week or so after warranty. Called and customer service informed me there was a recall and provided the part which was on recall. Fixed it and it worked a little more than a year before the auger stopped working properly. I would have never spent that amount of money for this unit that has had so many issues.

First pellet

Solidly built unit. One person can put it together, better with two. Did not do well on my first cook out, my fault not the grill. The grill works as designed, me not always.

No Support, No Operating Manual, Bad Probe

I purchased the Rider 900 DLX Pellet Grill/Smoker. This is my first Oklahoma Joe product and first pellet grill. The manual covers assembly and how to start the grill. It covers error codes. There is a QR code to scan to get you started but it goes to the website to purchase products. There is NO explaination on how the control panel works or how to operate the grill. Common sense I was able to figure out a few things plus found some YouTube videos. Tried calling the customer support and was on hold for 30 minutes without any service. Tried the webiste - contact us, send an email. Click on the link and it takes you back to the beginning. Did anyone try the links before publishing them? I have entered the product code to get an operating manual - it is the same assembly manual. Having used the grill once, discovered one of the probes is bad.
