Bendable

I bought this item and it bent - both the on the flat strainer part and both metalo handle supports. I asked for the cheaper old school design but was sent the same model. Fail x Fail!

A versatile potato masher

A very easy to use potato masher, which can also be used to even out hamburgers, vergie burgers and more. I also use to mash vegetables when making vegetatable soup. I am very happy with this product as this also suits people with poor hand grip and arthritic hands/fingers.

Perfect!

Works great! Mashes potatos and other things like squash well, and also works great for say, breaking up beans in a pot soup. The design of the handle really give you leverage to push it through. I've been very happy with it, and would recommend.

Light and efficient gadget

This masher is small, lightweight but a great tool, generating great mashed potato. The handle is soft and provides an efficient grip for mashing. Bring stainless steel, it's easy to clean.

Simply the best

I tried lots of potato mashers over the years. Recently I’ve really struggled with the current one I had. That has all changed since I bought this OXO softworks one. It’s a dream, no effort & you have lovely mashed potatoes. I was reluctant to buy because of the price, then I was lucky to get it in the sale. So great bargain I couldn’t be more pleased. Excellent click & collect service too. Well done Dunelm.

Sturdy And Easy To Clean

Never thought I'd get excited about a potato masher but genuinely did the first time I used this. Easy to use, being solid with a good handle. Easy to clean too. Highly recommend!

Great, comfortable masher

Does a good job mashing, seems well-made and the handle-design is easier on the hands/wrists than others. I would not recommend using it in a non-stick pot/pan, as I'd worry it might scratch the non-stick coating.

Sharp edges

Unfortunately had to return the item. The metal part had extremely sharp edges. It almost felt unfinished from the factory. I felt it would be dangerous to keep as it was difficult to wash without hurting your hands.

Easy to use and the handle was comfortable. I had to make close to 9 pounds of mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving and used this for most of the mashing. I did have to finish up with a hand mixer due to time constraints. Think this would have been fine for the whole mashing but does take longer than a mixer.

Great

Fabulous kitchen gadget. we had a normal masher before that used to bend and also hurt my hands. This one because you push down with you palm because of the shape and design does no hurt my hands and delivers wonderful smooth cream mashed potatoes.

Easy way to make fluffy mashed potatoes

I've been mashing potatoes with a spoon, but this is way better. It mashes them way faster, and the result is much fluffier and less lumpy. This product is very effective at mashing. It's also easier than mashing with a spoon. The handle is easy to push down into a bowl, and it does a better job mashing potatoes instead of just sliding them around.

best potato masher ever.

I do NOT like "single-use kitchen gadgets" -- but this one is terrific. I used to make mashed potatoes with a ricer ... and threw it away after first using this device because it's sooooo easy to use and clean, and the work took half the time of my old device. OXO designed this thing to mash quickly AND and to fit inside a bowl efficiently. Highly recommended.

A big improvement over my old, worn out potato masher

I was always disappointed when I used my old potato masher; it was awkward, and it didn't give the best results. This improved model is easier to use and the results are better. I usually love anything OXO makes.

Best ever.

OXO continues to impress. Seems like everything they make is top notch performance and durability. This looks like no other potato masher I've ever seen, but the design is truly inspired. My wife's 70+ year old wrists no longer suffer while using this device. The holes give a nice fluffy consistency similar to a potato ricer.

Excellent Product

This is a great masher. It gets the job done quickly. Easy to clean. Very easy to grip, I have arthritis in my fingers, so this is important to me. A great product, worth every penny. Highly recommend.

Good sturdy masher

I bought this for mashing swede, as the usual plastic things just aren't up to the job. This is perfect. Really sturdy and it goes in the dishwasher. Good quality for a reasonable price.

The best masher ever!

This is our second, a replacement of a slightly different design. This one is definite improvement on the previous. But it does the job without too much effort. It's pricier than most standard mashers but it's worth it, our previous one was at least 6 years old.

Updated review upgraded score.

I had fallen out of love with my old masher and bought this product on the strength of the two 5 star reviews and the fact that I have other OXO products I like. I originally awarded 3 stars because it's light, easy to use and does what it's supposed to do. It lost two stars because I found it easily deformed from its square configuration. The rigidity of the product could be improved without compromising on weight. However, adopting a technique of 'screwing' the masher into the potato instead of 'plunging' up and down vertically I now feel it could last longer than I originally expected. I still feel the price tag of ?12 is somewhat steep for a product that was probably pressed out for pennies in China so it's not getting the full five stars from me.

I found this masher a worthwhile purchase. I use it for potato mashing only. The problem with many mashers on the market, is that the masher part is far too thick. This in turn makes it rather hard to remove those last little pieces of delicious mashed pototo and also makes it harder to clean easily. This model is perfect. Some reviewers have complained about the units vertical legs collapsing. I can understand this happening, if one tries to mash a semi hard pototo that hasnt been boiled quite long enough.Im not suggesting that ones potatoes are boiled to a state of breaking apart, not at all, as that would be utter madness I boil my potatoes until theyre just soft enough to mash, then I add softened butter, room temperature, and some milk, saltpepper etc. By doing this, I have found no problems whatsoever. If one goes into a mashing session like a bull in a china shop, then this masher isnt going to be for you. If youre prepared to be gentle in approach, calm and collective, and use this masher sensibly then youll find it a dream to use and to clean afterwards.I wish you happy mashing.
