This lamp was very cheaply constructed and not at all what I expected. The marble base (which nobody sees!) was the only redeeming feature. (That's what makes the lamp weigh 18 lbs.) The pole, which the Home Depot phone representative told me was made of metal, was actually plastic and very lightweight (lighter than a shower curtain rod or a broom!). The online description said the lampshade was made of fabric, but instead it was lightweight plastic. A totally misleading ad! I returned the lamp to my nearest Home Depot the day after delivery. My only compliment is that the store graciously received the lamp and credited my card in a very few minutes. We have a great local Home Depot store.

Stylish lamp, easy to assemble

This lamp resembles far more expensive versions and brings a lot of sass for the $. It is currently smartening up my dressing room and casts a good light, with easy on-off and assembly. Highly recommended.

Quality lamp, looks great in the space!

This is a well-made lamp and very elegant, as well as modern looking. It was easy to put together and looks great in my living room. The base is quite heavy, made of marble and does a good job of keeping the lamp stable, although the lampshade is larger and heavier than I expected and does cause a little teetering. I have placed the lamp on a hardwood floor though, so it should be fine. I'm not sure I would feel as confident about the stability if it were on heavy pile carpet.
