Cheap paint, poor adjustment mechanism

I purchased these specifically because they were black, self closing, and the right dimensions to replace my existing hinges. They’re of decent quality as a hinge, but the paint is cheap and flakes on day one. The adjustment of the mechanism is terrible. They give you a pin to lock in the adjustment, but the pin will not go all the way into the adjustment hole, and cannot sit flush. I used a hammer, c clamp, pliers… I tried while holding the spring mechanism back from the top screw, I tried with the hinge on the door and off… it’s not me. It’s the design and it’s poor. After spending 30min I gave up. I’ll leave these installed until my old hinges get back from the powder coater, and then these will go into the trash.

Matches my existing front door hinges perfectly. Has enough spring adjustment even for a single hinge to close a moderately heavy door. Get to to be safe if you want a heavy door to close solidly.

Very solid hinge, easy to install and set up. Would recommend this to anyone wanting automatic closure of a door. I installed this on a commercial heavy metal door and it worked perfectly.
