I had to use the old part. The new part did not fix properly.
NOT the right part for American Standard Hampton BR sink...
NOT the right part for American Standard Hampton BR sink faucets. The teeth do not extend all the way to the bottom, so the part does not grip the faucet cartridge. I had to return it and reuse the old handle (teflon tape). There was another review that also mentioned this, but I ignored it.

Order 3 handles. Only one came with the insert needed to fit on an American Standard shower handle. Did not notice when I got the cold handle replaced. Wound up having to call a plumber to find out I got shorted on the inserts.
