I would easily give it negative stars if I could. When I purchased it I did not know it was the same item that blew apart a few weeks earlier. This one was leaking in the same place the other blew apart at and I escaped injury so be I took it down and bought a whole new shower head and hand shower combo. I never will use a diverter valve of this type again.

In shopping for similar diverters, it seems that they all are mostly plastic. Since that was the case for some priced at twice the cost of this, I decided to try it. It went on with no trouble and now holds a non-Speakman handheld shower. It's modern and attractive. Recommended. I do have a Speakman handheld in a different bath and it's excellent.

This product feels lighter duty. If you have a shower head like the speakman s-2251 or similar, look for a different diverter. This unit is more compatible with a lighter, more plastic-y head. The threads felt unsure even with a body sprayer attachment (also Speakman), but did not leak water like the head did. EDIT: Called Speakman, and the S-2251 had a rubber washer/strainer inside. This was not the flow restrictor and according to the representative, it should not have been inside this showerhead. I removed the washer and was able to use the heavy head on this lighter weight diverter. No leaks or issues.
