was looking for cutting boards

I had been to several stores looking for cutting boards that would fit my needs and got online and found these here at Walmart. And I tell you they fit my needs perfectly. The larger one fits on my stovetop almost like a hood and the smaller ones are great to chop wherever. The ease of storage is great, they fit well into cabinet spaces.

Very pleased with this purchase. We also bought the food grade mineral oil to maintain them properly. The different sizes are handy for cutting smaller foods and can use it as a serving board, for summer sausage, cheese %26 olives. Easy clean up and the grooves in the wood board catches juices from cooked meats %26 veggies for no mess left behind. Great buy!

The quality of the cutting boards is excellent. The edges are cleanly cut, and with a few applications of grape seed oil when I started using them, I haven’t had to worry about roughness or any other special care. The size and the fact that there are three boards make food prep efficient since I can easily slide chopped veggies into a bowl or pot! I spend quite a bit of time looking for the exact item I want, and one feature that was important to me was to get cutting boards that would be sanitary, yet kind to the edges of my knives. That immediately ruled out plastic cutting boards that have a reputation of dulling the knife edge. Since these are bamboo, I think the anti-bacterial quality and the less wearing of the knife edge is exactly what I was looking for. I would I recommend this product in a heartbeat!The one thing that compelled me to write this review, is the fact that Alex wrote me personally to ask how my experience in purchasing this product was. I have to say, I do t often write reviews, but when Alex took the time to send me a note, my heart swelled with appreciation for the hard work he and his family spend to create this fine product. I can’t emphasize how strongly I endorse this family and the hard work they exercise to put forth a quality product! Best wishes to them!

tl;dr Stop looking, get this set.This is a great set of cutting boards. In addition to looking great, these boards' "juice groove" is really helpful when you're cutting, well, juicy stuff like tomatoes, and the cutout handholds make it easy to move the boards around and use them as serving trays. The wood (bamboo) is more porous than what I was used to for cutting boards, so I decided to only use these for fruits and vegetables - this way I can usually just wash them with non-soapy water. (The bamboo also dries more slowly so store them upright to dry properly.) I was initially considering getting just the large cutting board but in retrospect I'm glad I got this set, partly because the large one isn't really that large, and partly because the smallest one is perfect for serving e.g. a cut apple or orange. I definitely recommend this set! (Plus, they're made in America!)

(purchaser's husband) As a user of heavy hardwood cutting boards I was highly suspect of my wife's purchase of this. To be fully honest, I expected these to be in the garbage within a month. When they arrived I was surprised to see the craftsmanship. I was still skeptical, since the bamboo looked porous and weak. As usual, I oiled the board before use and was even more skeptical/surprised/intrigued because it didn't absorb much oil at all. I was willing to give it a try.Since the purchase four months ago, they have been used daily. None have split, although one is ready for a very light sanding, but that's wholly because of use, not because of quality. They are also lightweight so they are easier to use. If they start to slip on the counter, a wet paper towel under it is a quick, solid fix. I'd do the same with the heavy board. The groove on the outside is deep and everything is well machined. They are easier to clean than any of my other boards and the sizes are ideal for most uses.Since we got these, I've only used my hardwood board once and that was only because I was pulling a lot of meat off the grill and this one was a little too small.I would absolutely recommend these. On that note, they'd make a great housewarming gift.

These cutting boards are great. I find that I use them practically every day. While I wish the largest one was slightly larger, it is good enough for my needs. I use the largest board exclusively for meat cutting. The medium board is used for veggies. I haven’t used the smallest board yet. I have used mineral oil on the boards and they have kept up well.The construction of the boards are pretty nice. I can see a couple of seams where maybe the board could split some years down the road, but by then I will certainly have gotten my use of the boards. If needed, I will just get replacements without concern and these boards are not expensive.The customer service provided by the seller is top notch. I am very impressed with the entire experience with the seller, including him contacting me a month after the sale. Incredible.

I bought these to cut meat on after I was done cooking it. My other cutting boards didn’t have the juice reservoirs, so they made a big mess. These boards are much better, though the grooves could be a little deeper.All three sizes are very handy. I like using the smallest to cut cheese and pepperoni or other small personal snacks. I even serve dinner on the bigger ones sometimes because its so easy to cut portions right at the table.Bamboo is very sustainable, so I opted for these over traditional wood and I’m not disappointed.There is some minor separation at the seams of where the glue is, but not enough to cause for panic. This could be from either the dishwasher or from the humid summer we had here. (I’ve noticed warping in some other wood products I own). My suggestion would be for the manufacturer to use a higher quality glue. Worst case scenario, Royal Craft Wood offers a lifetime warranty.Overall, they're a good product. Recommended.

We love these cutting boards! My partner and I were looking to 'furnish' our kitchen after moving in together and stumbled upon these cutting boards. We LOVE LOVE LOVE them!! The three sizes offer great variety for different occasions - the smallest one is small enough for little jobs like garlic, the biggest one does the trick for big projects like watermelon, and the middle one is a go-to for pretty much every situation! The 'moat-like' indents that surround the boards are great for catching juice, seeds, and for preventing spills.These boards are high-quality! Alex and his family did a great job of ensuring that every detail is looked after. After 6 months of daily use, they definitely hold the test of time - are scratch-mark free and haven't worn. They're so pretty and functional too! We love using them as serving plates for burger condiments, cheese boards, fruit, even fish.We can't get enough of them and recommend it to everyone!!

If you are thinking about purchasing this product I will give you some helpful advice on how to evaluate previous reviews to determine if this is the right cutting board (set) for you. Sort them by rating high to low. Once you have done this you will be looking at a list of how people take care of their kitchen items from "very careful" to "it should just work without maintenance".If you own knives you probably understand that they aren't just always going to be sharp. Cutting on certain surfaces will dull them. Using a knife block can dull them. They require sharpening and care. Sure some will last longer and keep their edge better due to their quality, but you need to care about what you own and put in some effort at keeping your items in good shape so they will do what you purchased them for.The reason I say all of this is because I purchased these expecting all sorts of problems. I expected splinters and separation of the bamboo pieces. Know what I found? A decent quality cutting board that requires a certain level of care to keep in good shape. While I think it is possible that a few bad ones left the factory, the number of problems people are having with these lead me to believe that they aren't being oiled and/or they are being submerged and allowed to absorb water. I'm not going to say this is the finest cutting board on the market, but I do think that a lot of the hate is misplaced. I have now been using these for a couple of weeks and they have performed flawlessly. I really think that this is a solid 4 star set. Is it easy to clean? Well it is wood so no it isn't as easy to clean as glass. Is it sturdy? Again, it is made up of pieces of bamboo so it probably isn't as sturdy as a solid board would be. Craftsmanship? I don't think this was made by a craftsman who cares what he is shipping out the door. I haven't experienced splintering so far and it feels well made but it is a mass produced product so I don't think it earns 5 stars there either.Ultimately this is a good set that presents an incredible value if you are in the market for bamboo boards. I cook for my family at home and I plan on taking care of these so they will serve me well. It comes with care instructions and everyone who purchases these would be well served by reading them. I doubt they will win any awards or be used in any top kitchens around the world, but they are a good set and a great value.
