Bad drawer handle

I was not expecting a heavy duty file and that is fine, but one handle could not be attached securely because the thread was not drilled into the handle ends completely. I had to add a shim to the inside so t would not wobble and eventually fall off. Products are no longer made to strict specifications anymore and that makes things seem very very cheap when a piece of cardboard is what holds things steady.

Very nice file cabinet!

We’re very happy with our purchase of this two drawer file cabinet! Although it is lightweight, it included two keys and the handles are nicer than standard plain looking handles. The handles were not attached, they need to be assembled but a very easy task. It exceeded our expectations! After checking out other cabinets available elsewhere, this one is worth it, to get a nicer, locking cabinet that actually includes two keys. Customer service was excellent in answering some questions I had about delivery. The cabinet was delivered as instructed and without any damage to the cabinet. It looks very nice! Thank you STAPLES!

Selected this product to go under the work station. Because the desk could only accommodate a certain depth because of the the way it was constructed this was the perfect solution. It fit perfect after a few height adjustments to the desk. Also, the sale price was a deciding factor.

It looks great! The locking mechanism works. Locking and unlocking is just a bit sticky, so I hope this will settle and get smoother over time. I may try some WD-40 on it. I have 4 others and they are perfect and have lasted well with lots of use.

Ideal file cabinet for all filing needs

I purchased this cabinet to replace a broken filing cabinet. It easy to put together in terms of putting the handles on, which is the only assembly required. It fits perfectly under the standard height desk to keep it inconspicuous. The price was great as well.

PERFECT

This is a perfect fit if you need a cabinet to fit under a desk. My first order I hadn't looked closely enough at the height of the cabinet, which was 26 1/2. Too big to fit under a desk. I returned it and ordered this. PERFECT!

Fully assembled file cabinet - very good choice for home or small office.

I am very happy with my new filing cabinet - it is exactly as described. The delivery was on time as scheduled and best of all - it was already assembled! All I had to do was open the box and begin filling it. This cabinet is not top-heavy and the drawers open and close easily. Very good choice for the money.

Vertical file cabinet 2-drawer - metal

It's OK. The handles are a little too close to the metal - my fingers can easily get caught in the handle. I don't know why the handles are not placed in the middle of the drawer. The cabinet is lighter than I expected which means I can't fill each drawer to the maximum.

Great quality

It is worth the money to invest in this basic file cabinet. I bought the cheap model first and it was horrible. This cabinet has good slides and the drawers function well when full. I did, however, build a base to raise it off the floor for more convenient access.

Just what I needed

This two drawer locking file cabinet is just what I needed to fit in the closet of my small office. It’s just 18 inches deep and tucks right under the lowest shelf in my closet. Easy to set up. It does feel just a bit flimsy - when the drawers are fully loaded the sides seem to give a bit when I push the drawer in. Also I need to be careful about it tipping forward. Since this is for archived files that I do not need to access often, I’m not too concerned. Can’t beat the price.

Draw handles were fasten inside draw!

This was the second file cabinet I ordered actually this was a gift. Draws have to b pried open in order to get to handles so now the person I ordered this for has to unscrew them and fasten on to front hopefully they will fit properly. This is really unacceptable but to return would create a real hardship. Please advise

Piece of junk

Sliding mechanism is the absolute cheapest design and will not hold up to being weighted down by simply using it the way it is supposed to be use - to hold files. I believe after several days of supporting the weight of my files, the drawers did not maintain their structure and I could not even slide open the drawers. Good example of you get what you pay for. Now, the file cabinet I got could have been defective in some way, but I could not return it since the return policy expired before the drawer mechanism failed which was only a couple weeks after purchase.

Poor quality!

I purchased this filing cabinet for my office and it held just a few files (very light) and had minimal use. In just over 3 months (beyond the point of literal "return"), the top drawer came off its track and can't go back on. The drawer is now bent at an angle and it makes it impossible to open up the bottom drawer. Don't purchase - even for lightweight or few files. Very disappointed! Flushed this money right down the toilet!

Adequate for occasional use

I bought this file cabinet for long term storage, and not so much every day use. I was concerned after reading reviews about how these units are not very sturdy and arrived damaged.

Good Cabinet, shipping just okay

This a great low cost cabinet. Very well built for the price, I needed a cabinet with about 29" in height to support a counter top as a desk worked out perfect. Its not like some of the cheaper cabinets that are made of thin steel or metal.

Cheaply Made

First time I ordered it, it had a huge, crushed dent at the bottom, back, right corner. The second time, it had several dings, one of which was quite noticeable on the front. The cabinet was made of cheap aluminum. I cancelled the order because I was afraid that even if I had gotten an undamaged item, it would not take long for it to be damaged as it was so cheaply made. I was looking for more of a heavy duty metal that would be durable. As well, I was not impressed by the way the draws rolled in or out. It should be zero stars, but it would not let me do that - how ironic!

22", 2-Drawer, letter size,file cabinets

I just started a business and new I needed lots of stuff from Staples, my go to store. I reviewed many file cabinets and found the 22" length by 28" height, 2 drawer, letter size in putty was perfect. The reason being, I purchased counter tops from another store and needed the right elevation like a desk at 28" high and the support of a 22" long file cabinet. So, the 22"x28" file cabinets provided the right length & height for me. We screwed the counter tops onto two, two by fours and it sits perfectly on the 22" file cabinets. The cabinets are deep and sturdy with a lock & key too.
