This is was a bad purchase! The mattress pad needs structure to ts not firm nor is it soft it's right at uncomfortable.

This topper is heavy duty! I have had thicker toppers in the past that squish down to nothing when you lay on it. Not this one!! It is very dense yet conforming. Great right out of the package, no odor or waiting for it to "inflate". The size is generous as well. There is a little extra all the way around, so when you sit on the edge of the bed, you are fully supported. I was a bit Leary of feeling the "bumps" under the sheets, but it's very comfortable. Not hot either!
