Installed, Working Well

4 of 5 because our original hose was metal with a weight. The original model number for our Delta kitchen pull-out faucet is 473-RB. Around 2008 Delta updated this to model 473-RB-DST. The new hose connects to bottom of threaded tube on original model, but the blue clip is way too small for the 0.52" thread OD. I carefully drilled out one end of the clip to 0.50" and used the tube to tap some thread into it, then threaded it into place and secured it tightly with a tie-wrap.

Easy to order, exact fit.

Easy to find and order on website. Exact fit. My only complaint is Lowe’s would not ship to PO Box where I get mail and I had to have it sent to my daughter’s address.

Terrible part

I bought a Delta Addison Touch2o faucet from Home Depot and the little blue plastic clip failed recently causing significant water damage. Due to the fact that these Touch2o faucets are always in the on position, when it fails, the water shoots out into the cupboard and anywhere else it can go until you discover it. To top it off, you can’t get a replacement clip from Home Depot and have to deal directly with Delta. Very disappointed by this situation. There is no reason for this non-moving part to fail.

It’s not as long as you think

I ordered the 59” hose and you fell short by about 10”

I purchased this hose to replace the original hose on our Delta pull-down faucet. (The older hose and faucet are probably 5-6 years old.) We were getting black debris in our water from this faucet. The new hose was easy to replace once I realized that the small white rounded plug which came with the new hose needed to be used to thread the new hose through the faucet. There were no instructions about doing this with the new hose and plug. I had to go to he Delta website to see a parts breakdown for the faucet to notice that this temporary plug was needed to get the hose to pass freely through the metal faucet. (I spent about an hour trying to thread the new hose through before resorting to an exploded view of the faucet assembly and realizing the rounded plug was necessary.) I disected the old hose and found serious deterioration of the inside of the black rubber that is in the woven silver jacketing - explaining the black particles we were noticing the dispensed water. Looks like a poor material choice or bad compounding of the rubber by Delta (as a retired polymer engineer). Typically neoprene or other chlorine-resistant elastomers would be used in city water applications. Hopefully that has been corrected with the replacement hose.

Did not work

After installation, the hose would slip off the faucet. It did not go on the faucet mount far enough for the clip to secure it. If you move the faucet left or right, it would come apart. Seems like the clip is made for a Moen faucet not a Delta faucet.

Checked the Delta website to ensure part number was correct. Hose was different than original. Original had braided stainless hose and this one is some kind of plastic. Original clip was black and this one was blue and slightly different. Installation is easy if you sharpen a dowel to a point and stick it up from below. This will aid in helping the fitting pass through by centering the fitting so it doesn't hang up inside the faucet tube. Once you get the hose snaked through its just a matter of replacing the weight and putting the connections together. In my case, the new blue clip worked fine and was good and snug. My replacement was needed because of black particles coming through because of the rubber hose that was deteriorating. The first one lasted 20 years so can't complain. Everything is working fine now and no leaks.

I installed the Delta Quick Connect Hose Assembly and clip myself. It had some difficulty connecting the hose under the sink due to the limited space. Once I was able to insert the hose fully, it was easy to clip. I purchased it to solve an issue with black particles coming from the faucet.

After discovering there isn't really a standard hose for pull-out kitchen faucet sprays, I wondered whether this was the correct part and would it fit well. I need not have worried. The description is accurate. This hose works with Delta faucets that have Diamond Seal valves. No issues with fit or installation--apart from the inevitable hassle of working underneath a sink. Quality seems good but only time will tell. I'll update this review if it breaks earlier than I'd expect. Other things to know: The braided material is something like nylon instead of stainless steel on the original. The black hose looks good--much better than expected--but, if you really want an all-stainless steel-look this is probably the wrong part for you. After being pulled out, this doesn't snap back as neatly as the original part. It gets 95% of the way on its own, but, the faucet head doesn't sit flush without a little assistance. This could be just an issue with the space under my sink or because this hose is lighter. I plan to add more counterweight to see if it helps.

This is the second hose I purchased to replace the damaged hose on our Delta kitchen faucet. The first one fit fine on the nozzle, but not on the under sink attachment. Make sure to check both connections. If your nozzle connection is castleatted and you have a blue clip around a PLASTIC connector under the sink then this hose is for you. If you have a black clip with a brass (metal) connector under the sink you will need a different hose. If you have problems getting this threaded through the faucet with the little helper 'cap' they supply then you can try an alternate approach: A large novelty pencil. Feed the sharpened end of the pencil up into the faucet from the bottom, then feed the plastic cup end of the new hose through the top of the faucet. The cup will catch on the point of the novelty pencil which will center it in the hole. Once you feel the hose end on the pencil tip keep pushing on the hose as you draw the pencil back out and the hose connection should follow smoothly through. You could accomplish the same thing with a properly sized piece of dowel rod sharpened to a cone on top. This worked much better for me than the plastic 'cap', which didn't help at all.

The replacement was a snap. 5 minutes plus a minute or two to get the tool (just pliers for the sprayer end) and the plumbers grease. If you don't have plumbers grease, a little dish soap will do just fine. The hose was actually an inch or so longer than the original part that was in there (nice). My faucet model is a DELTA Single Handle Pull-Out Kitchen Faucet model 16953-DST. That's it, no other modifiers on model number. Everything fit, including the clip that secures the hose to the faucet end under the sink. When replacing, get a dishcloth, remove the under sink faucet clip, pull the hose off of the faucet fixture, and catch the hose water with the dishcloth. Then, from the sink side, pull the sprayer hose all the way out. Unscrew the old hose, grease the o-ring on the new hose and attach the new hose to the sprayer. Gently tighten with the pliers. Use a rag to protect the fitting from the teeth of the pliers. Push the other end of the hose back through the faucet and seat the sprayer. Then, under the sink, run the hose through the weight, grease the o-ring on the faucet pipe, and slip on the hose. Put the clip in place and you are done. Turn on the faucet and look for leaks at the sprayer end and under the sink.
