My daughter is an aspiring storm chaser, so I got this weather station to help teach her about accurate prediction models based on real time dataIts nice to be able to teach her the mechanics of meteorology so she can get a grasp of the science of it all Set up of the unit was much easier than I expectedI was intimidated at first, as the outdoor unit looks like something out of a sci-fi movie, but it was actually very easyThe data started reporting in to the display unit immediately, and there is a ton of different readings and measurements to seeThe outdoor unit is in my backyard, and I keep the inside display in my kitchenI havent experienced any issues with the 2 communicating at allThis is a great gift if you have anyone in the family interested in meteorology

I really like this thing, it has all the functionality I wanted with temp, humidity, rain gauge and even an atomic clockBut I had to remove 1 star for the mounting system, maybe theres some special weather station mount youre supposed to buy that Im not aware of but when using just what is included theres no adjustment in the mount to get it levelIt has a level on top, but you cant adjust left/right front/back so you basically have to screw it into something thats perfectly plum and get your hole placement perfect, which is nearly impossibleThe display is big and easy to read, I like that the backlighting can be set to only turn on for some time when the top of the display is touched so its not lighting up the room at night because it gets really bright, but it would be much better if that setting could be adjusted on topId like it on during the day and off at night and to adjust it the buttons are on the back which is pretty inconvenientI had the outdoor unit inside for a few days and the inside vs outside temp were about 1 degree off, even though they were in the same room, so I cannot say that its super accurate, it was the same with humidity, showed slightly different %sI have gone though multiple thermometer and they never seem to agree on the temp, I wish they were were calibrated to provide a certain level of accuracy Overall its a good weather station but I removed 1 star for the mount and my doubts about its accuracyI would have removed 2 stars for that but compared to what else is on the market I dont think you will get better for the price so I only removed 1 star

This is one impressive weather station kitIt is well-constructed and designed to provide everything I want to know in a fairly compact and unobtrusive unitI love the rain gauge and the built in level and even solar panels to assist with powerThe display is bright and provides tons of information in an easy-to-read formatHighly recommend

My hubby set up the outdoor station and said that it was straight forward and easy to set upHe followed the manual and it all went smoothlyWe have set it up on our fence in an area that is most open but also won’t be effected by the sprinklers in the summerThe device has a solar panel on it in order to help increase the life of the batteriesWe’ve had no issues with the connect between the device and the display The actual display provides a variety of information – indoor temperature and humidity, outdoor temperature and humidity, what it actually feels like outdoors, the high and low for the day, wind speed, wind direction, amount of rainfall, barometric pressure, , forecasted weather based on the barometric pressure trend as well as the date and timeMy hubby says he thinks the screen is too busy, but I think you just have to adjust and learn what you’re looking for when you look at itYou are able to adjust the brightness of the screen to your preference and you can install batteries in the display so that you can either run it on battery or the batteries will be backup for if the power is outThe display has a stand to place it on a counter/table/shelf, or you can hang it on a nailCouple factors for hanging it up is that you will have a cord running to it, or you have to use batteries to give it a nicer, cleaner look on the wallAlso, there are buttons on the back of the display that you cannot access unless you take it down from the wall On the back of the display unit there are various buttons so that you can look at the trends/historyYou can check what the high and lows were for the temperature and humidity the highest wind speeds in the last hour, 24 hours 7 days, month or year, how much rain fell in the last hour, 24 hours 7 days, month or yearI’ve been watching this item for a bit and comparing it to my current Accurite weather display thatAt first I was seeing more of a difference in what they were displaying for the outside informa

CONS: Rechargeable batteries dont fit rightNo way to download or store information on a computer PROS: Easy to setupEasy to mount on top of a 4x4Display is clear and bright Additional Thoughts: At first, I had a hard time getting the sensors to get powerI tried two different sets of brand new, charged, rechargeable batteriesIt turns out the middle battery wasnt making good contactSecond, you have to be very quick to notice the LED flash that it does have powerNotice those two things in my videoI was curious why there is a solar panel on the sensors so I held it to direct sunlight and measured 0 45V at the battery terminalsMaybe this helps charge rechargeable batteries, maybe notThe manufacturer states the solar panel is to offset the battery usage during sunlight hoursAfter only a week, my information panel showed low batteries in the sensor, then the next day they lost connectionThen, the next day it was sunny and the sensors came back automaticallyThis has happened several times over the month I have been testing thisThese battery issues may not be a problem with regular alkaline batteriesThe real bummer for me is that there is no way to record information to a computer in any formatFor me, this is just for gee wiz and definitely not a pro weather station LovingTheRetiredLife

The weather station started right up, and connected to the interior display within less than a minuteI let them sync for about an hour before installing outsideI was able to mount it to the kids playset in about 5 minutes with the included screwsIt stayed syncedI then moved the inside display to a different power outletAgain, the weather station synced immediately to the displayThe station needs to be mounted facing north to provide the appropriate wind directionIt also includes temperature and humidity, a rain gauge, and forecast based on the barometric pressureThe atomic clock set the date and time, although I did need to set the time zone The device tracks history for the hour, day, month, and yearIm excited to see how long the battery will last with the solar panel

Ive had this up for a couple weeks now and its working great so farSetup was pretty easy and involves putting batteries into the station itself and into the displayThe station has a solar panel but I guess the need for batteries is in case there is no sunThe directions are not that great because they arent written by a native English speaker but I figured it outI attached the station to a gazebo type thing I have in my backyard using the included mount and hardwareThe mount is pretty versatile so you will probably find something it will attach toI have it about 30-40 feet away from the screen and the signal is strong enough that theyve been communicating with each other no problemThe display is bright and has big numbers that are easy to readAll in all, Im very happy with this and it provides a lot of good weather infoNot sure how I would improve it other than better directions

Kit is complete with mounting hardware and can be mounted to both a flat surface or a pole with a supplied mountThe monitor screen in large and brightness is adjustable and the real-time weather data collected is also adjustable Great value for the price, seems well made and should last for years

I got this to replace an older more basic one that I hadThis new one is great, a lot more readings to obsess overIt has an atomic clock that works great, a ton of features, many I doubt I will ever use, but I do enjoy being able to see every aspect of the weather! I have 2 complaints1the screen is not nearly as big as the pictures would lead you to believeand 2I wish the multi-function sensor was solar powered instead of having batteries that will need to be replaced periodicallyOtherwise, a great device!

My son aspires to be a meteorologist so I got this for him to monitor the weatherIt was super easy to set up and ready to useThus far comparing it to the local weather station it is very accurateIt is a great Christmas present
