overall, it's a nice little cabinet. It was easy to put together. perfect size for what i needed. one of the panels was damaged in shipping (of course), but it wasn't bad, and i didn't want to mess with trying to return it. after i assembled it, it didn't affect the cabinet, so no big deal.

Cheap Cracked Crap

i too bought this 5 shelf cabinet in hopes to use it as a mini pantry. it looked perfect for what i needed. It came in late, ok. but when we opened it, excited to have it. we noticed the color, its not the same. And it was cracked and looked used. We continue to build it, and noticed all the saw dust and odor. Son couldnt breathe, asthma. Parts and pieces didn't match up. We gave up trying to assemble it. right at the end adding the doors. Going to send it back. wouldnt recommend buying this product.

Cheaply made and awkward, disappointing

For starters, the great price I paid was canceled out by the outrageous shipping when other colors had free shipping but a much higher price. Yes I knew this when I ordered them but expected a better product than I received. Assembly was well over the time the instructions stated and was a 2 person, not 1 person, job. The panels had different color variations, not matching completely to other pieces within the shelving unit. The panels and doors are damaged with scratches and some wood particles chipping off, right out of the box. That's not a good way to present a product to a customer. The magnetic doors aren't very magnetic. They don't stay closed. The magnets are set too far back and don't catch the door. They may as well not be there. The 5 door assembly looks cool but is awkward, and once you get it assembled you wonder why it was made that way because there isn't much space inside the compartment and very awkward to have to bend to the floor to reach the bottom compartment. It's not as functional as it appears. I would return what I haven't assembled, I have 3 still to put together, but I am not going to pay that outrageous shipping to do so. I would be losing way too much money. It's worth more to keep a cheap inferior product than to pay the shipping cost, which was over $85 by the way, when the other colors shipped for free as I said, but cost more per unit. I am in need of storage and will utilize them since I bought them but would not recommend them and will not buy any more or any or products made by Hodedah again.

Decent bookcase for the price

For the price, this is a decent bookshelf. It took me about an hour to put it together, and that was because I used a drill for about half the assembly (the main structure had to be put together using an allen wrench). Some cons: the magnets aren't particularly strong. We got this to keep our young children out of the book case. I'm not sure how well these magnets will help that, but it's better than what we had. Also, the handles are plastic. If using a drill to assemble, be careful not to overdrive the screws. The tips will easily come through the plastic handles. The shelf already had some minor scratching on it as well, and I don't think the finish is particularly durable. But for the price, overall, this is a good buy I think.
