This is the second cabinet that has been ordered. The first one came and 2 of the holes in the door were cracked and it made the doors not usable. Took greater than a month to receive a new one. I thought I was getting just new doors but I received a whole new cabinet. Again one of the doors was cracked but made it work as I was not going to wait another month to reorder another 1 and it may or may not work. Probably better buying one of these locally as it would be easier to return and exchange in a more timely fashion.

I bought 2 of these cabinets for patio storage, the doors do not stay closed and there are gaps in the side panels. I needed something to keep my outdoor cushions out of the 'elements'. These do not work. Total waste of time and money.

Don’t buy if you want to keep it locked

The part where a lock fits is very thin. Anyone could easily just yank the lock right off. I ended up putting on a couple of eye bolts and putting the lock through those. Other than that, it’s pretty flimsy, I was expecting higher quality from Rubbermaid.

Good for indoor use. Not so much outdoors.

The holes provided in the door handles are not big enough for a standard padlock. No way to secure the box. The doors will not stay closed if not secured. Assembly was easy enough.

terrible and not worth the price

This item is incredibly cheap and not worth the money. It cracks everywhere and water will get in, guranteed. it is not weather protected -also the top does not have any protection where the tubes go so they were fill up with water and you will not be able to empty it out unless you flip the entire unit over. Not worth the money keep shopping. I had to give it one star because zero stars was not allowed

I bought the larger one before and it was fiddly to put the second level of side on but had instructions printed on the side of the outer case. The smaller one had NO instructions (and were not on Rubbermaids instruction manual website). Realized I’d missed a step putting a side on and could not get the relevant post back out. Tried WD40. So now I have a side missing. So annoying for the sake of a basic instruction sequence being provided and lack of Superman strength to take out the wedged in post.

Great value

I got four of these cabinets to organize my garage. They are plenty strong for shop tools and other heavy objects. They go together easily (with a rubber mallet) for anyone with a little mechanical sense. Follow the directions carefully for order of assembly. After a few weeks they are still working well. I am happy with this purchase since they are about half the price of comparable steel cabinets.

Would have been perfect

this would have been exactly what I wanted/needed and the price was acceptable. I spent 1.5 hrs trying to assemble. I laid it all out--looked perfectly easy--despite the fact there were NO instructions-however, one or more of the holes were just barely too small and/or off center and the poles would not go through as designed. With the hard plastic, I did not want to force or try to carve out a piece. So, I returned it. Too bad.

My reason for 3 stars. Received it yesterday and it was not difficult to put together. We had a big rainstorm yesterday and I found that water is getting inside the unit. My main purpose for ordering this unit was to keep gardening supplies safe from moisture i.e. tools, soil, fertilizer, grass seeds, etc. This morning I laid a large trash bag over the unit to hopefully keep the rain/moisture out as it is expected to rain off and on over the next few days. I did notice that the door of the unit does not shut flush which is why water is entering the unit. Our old unit (20 years old) which was beginning to crack and fall apart did not allow water/moisture to enter. I should not have to cover the unit to keep moisture/rain out.

Basic cabinets that are easy to assemble. Some of the holes that were punched out for the poles were still attached in parts so did have to take a utility knife to cut some of the pieces out so just have to be careful as those edges can be a bit sharp. It's quite ingenious in terms of the way it's packaged and the way it's assembled. Can see how a rubber mallet might be useful for someone who may need a little more help to get some of the parts connected. Not meant for heavy storage items but was perfect for my needs to keep things organized in my garage and to keep the dust out. I put heavier items on the bottom shelf such as glass and plastic bottles, etc. and lighter items on the upper shelf such as paper towels, kleenex, etc. I did get it on sale so was satisified with my purchase.

We had been looking for a storage cabinet for our outdoor deck for quite some time. Most I found had horrible reviews or were way more than I wanted to spend. This cabinet seemed to fit the bill on cost and customer reviews. It was easily put together (no tools needed) and probably took us about 15 minutes. There were no instructions inside the box, however there were some printed on the outside of the box. The problem was, shipping labels had been put over the directions and weren't easily removed but, once we did remove them, assembling the cabinet was a snap. Would definitely recommend this cabinet to others.

We love this cabinet. It is versatile and can be used in different rooms for a variety of purposes. It is in our kitchen now to be able to immediately baby proof our home, because it has a little area to put a small lock on. Later, as we upgrade our kitchen with a built in kitchen cabinet, it can be shifted easily to other rooms, and even to a shed when we build it. It is a very good solution. The top shelf can hold heavy items like a case of drinking water, etc. Sturdy and attractive, and neutral enough to blend well into any room. I downgraded one star because it was hard to assemble, due to some parts that did not mesh well and had to be "modified" slightly, by my husband who beat it with a hammer to force it together. Even after this so called "adjustment", it stood up beautifully to his effort with the hammer. Incidently, each of the top four corners have open 1 1/2 "holes that debris can drop 37" down to the bottom. If the company ever improves this, 4 closure caps that fit over these holes would be great. But regardless of these small issues, we are glad to have purchased it.

I must have got the end of a run. Be advised if you do purchase this product the instructions are printed on one side of the box. If you lay out all the pieces it is pretty easy to figure out how it goes together. The pieces are just molded plastic and the ends that fit over the post are drilled out, but some not completely,so I had to take a razor knife to cut out the plug. When I put it together in about 15 minutes the holes did not line up, couldn't shut the doors because they were binding. Took it back apart and spent 1 1/2 hours reaming the the holes. Put back together , doors didn't line up, corners did not fit flush. I currently have it outside under an eve. It is not water proof at all. Maybe you will have better luck. I expected better quality control from Rubbermaid.

I always need hidden storage for my gardening supplies. They look messy on open shelving so I ordered this base cabinet to hold my fertilizer, pesticides, extra pots, soil and tools. It is the perfect size for the items I use regularly but want to hide. The fact that it can be locked is great. I don't want children or animals to get into some of these garden essentials. Now I can have my gloves and buckets handy without seeing them on shelves in the garage. This is a great cabinet for the price.

I have a small orchard at my farm, protected from the Elk, with 8' high fencing. Invariably, when I'm out there tending to the fruit trees, I find myself wanting to do additional chores, that I had not planned on, or brought the right tools to use. This large Rubbermaid base cabinet is perfect for me. It's 37" high x 36" wide x 18" deep. It holds all my essential tools, to do any job. The two barn doors open wide to fully display everything that is inside. It has a hole in each door so the doors can be pad locked, if needed. The easy to read & understand assembly instructions, were right on the packaging box. The assembly of this cabinet was easy & only took minutes. The only tool I used for assembly was a rubber mallet. I had a little difficulty fitting the corner posts through the side wall cutouts, as the cutouts still had some debris stuck to every hole, from the factory machining process. The clean out of these holes took a few more minutes, than expected. When fully assembled, all joints gave a good tight fit. An additional cabinet can be mounted right on top of this one. The top & bottom shelves can hold up to 75 lbs each. The center shelf can hold up to 180 lbs. This is a rugged, tough storage cabinet, that won't rust.

The Rubbermaid Brand, 37 in. H x 36 in. W x 18 in. D Gray Resin Base Cabinet is light weight and easy to assemble. I received one of these cabinets to review for Home Depot. Had I seen a floor model in the store, I think would have passed it up for something nicer. The cabinet appears to have been engineered for low production cost, compact packaging, and exceptionally easy consumer assembly. Basically, all three areas appear to have been achieved in its engineering and construction. The doors operate quite functionally. However, the doors do not open smoothly in use. There are no provisions for mounting it to a wall to keep it off the floor if important. The cabinet must sit on the floor only, otherwise heavy items stored in the cabinet could cause the cabinet to fall apart if the cabinet base were not supported. The cabinet is 100-percent resin plastic and will not rust or corrode if installed in damp locations or damp items come into contact with it. Most folks would be able to assemble this cabinet without the need for instructions as assembly is very straight forward if the packaging box became discarded since the assembly instructions are printed on the outside of the box.

Put this together just yesterday. Rubber mallet helped tremendously. There was a lot of manufacturing debris in the box to discard. Simple enough to assemble. I couldn't find the instructions in the box and then found them printed ON the box. I found a space for it under a roof that covers a slab behind my house in an area where we are planning an outdoor kitchen. Feel good about having it in a sheltered area as I'm not sure how well it keeps water out and how it will stand up to the central California sun where it's over 100 degrees about 60% of the days in July. Can always use some extra storage space.

Four Stars for fit, this cabinet is easily assembled, requiring only a rubber mallet or a regular hammer with a block of wood to hammer the pieces together. The instructions for assembly are printed on the exterior of the box in which it comes, so don't throw the box away before you've put it together! The doors hinges are tight. The doors don't swing open by themselves, requiring a purposeful tug to open them. The walls do not tightly fit together, allowing air or bugs to enter. However, the cabinet does what I need it do do. If bugs or spiders become a problem, I'll just use some caulk to seal the open spaces. The doors also have a couple of holes in which to insert a small lock.

I got this to put some extra storage in my race trailer. The issue I have had with cabinets in a trailer is the vibration from traveling everything seems to fall apart! Not this guy! It was easy to assemble by reading the pictures on the box as it does not come with instructions inside, just some step by step pictures on the carton. The only tool you need is the palm of your hand but they do suggest a rubber mallet. Went together in 5 minutes. Installed in trailer in 10 minutes. I believe this will last for many years bouncing down the road.
