Holding Up Nicely
I bought this 2 years ago and decided to wait on reviewing it, given some issues I've had with other white furniture. I'm happy to say this piece is holding up really well, even with 2 cats climbing all over it. I have the white yellow and it looks great in my living room. I use it as a TV stand, but when I move in a few weeks it's going in the small dining room as a sideboard of sorts. It was a bit of a pain to put it together, but once you're done, it's a good piece of furniture. Easy to wipe down and keep clean.
Versatile mid century California design
Although this was tricky to assemble, it is a very attractive piece and well worth it. It adds a certain mid century California modern vibe to my living room. Very pretty and versatile, the stand appears to be sturdy enough to hold up my TV and the shelves could contain some of my books and other things-maybe a spare laptop or tablet for work.
Do not purchase
The quality was extremely poor and the instructions were not good. The dowels were larger than the holes and difficult to get in. Holes were not aligned properly and finish was marginal. The best thing about the unit was the packaging. The tv stand was so bad it did not support our tv. In the end, the stand was too compromised to return. We threw it out. Parts were not labeled or labeled incorrectly. This was our first attempt with furniture of this kind to assemble.
Very cheap. Pictures are misleading.
The shelf is cheap and my tv is 65 inch this is not a tv stand at all this is literally cheap material looks good in the pictures but it’s very cheap I wouldn’t recommend this. This tv is very small in person too , more smaller then my 3 year old . Pictures are very misleading. I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time I wanted to return it but it’s too much work to do so. Don’t waste your time or money.
Very cheap look and feel
Easy to assemble but not very good quality. The included manual lists the max weight the stand can hold as very minimal ( +/-50 lbs). The accent door looks like composite wood in the photo ( brown on all sides) but is actually just a printed applique on the same white particle board as the rest of the stand ( brown on the front side only). It looks ok from far away but very cheap up close. I'm unhappy with this purchase, and wouldn't recommend it.
This is an MDF-based product - "wood" it is not
First of all, I love the design...however...this is a flat-pack MDF item. To sell it with a material description of "wood" is disingenuous at best. A word to Overstock, please update the materials description to clearly identify the material to be "MDF". This item is already damaged in the construction process...and I was being extremely careful to construct it on carpeting and being slow and methodical in my approach. This is why I DETEST MDF products. They are cheaply manufactured with cheap parts and rely upon the skillset (and tools) of the buyer. For the price, this is a complete let-down. I purposefully look at the materials to filter out ANY item made with MDF. Overstock, you let me down, and for that reason I will be shopping locally for my furniture...something that will benefit my local economy and not yours. Less
Best price, for a new mid century basic piece!
This is sooo cute! For the price it’s not bad, it come packaged nice and with good instructions. The only thing hard is when putting on the backing there are not guided pint to nail in but you get the gist of it. They do give you plenty of excites dowels and screws, and they even gave little scuff protectors! I hold the didn’t have any issue and it’s a reflect height for a small room and a normal couch height. The yellow is not a soft yellow but more vibrant. Took me About an hour to put together which wasn’t too bad. You will need a screwdriver and hammer - they don’t provide that. The only thing I wish it had was a poke through hole in the cabinet - but they only have it in the shelves and I was planning on using that to store all the tv and Internet crap but it’s okayeee. Still looks good after a year.Liked that there were various color options. Selected black to complement the other furniture in the room. A few challenges putting it together and recommend taking your time assembling the TV stand. The two back panels were separate. Made a larger hole in the bottom one to allow more air flow for a tuner. Although this is the smallest version made by Liberty, there is enough room for a DVD player and tuner on the shelves and lots of storage behind the door.
Very nice unit for the price
I was trying to get out of the “buying particle board furniture you have to assemble” portion of my life, but this was too good of a deal to pass up. I got the lighter patterned wood door version. It’s pretty neat the raised look of the pattern is just an illusion. I do really like the white lacquer finish, as others have also mentioned. I was a little nervous about buying it at first because a few people complained about the parts, mostly the legs, but overall the unit was pretty easy to assemble. They include a bag of extra parts which is nice. FYI, the legs are all the same folks, getting them right is a matter of how much you tighten them on the screw. I took one star off because I was missing a felt foot pad, seemingly the only item not in the extra parts bag, and also because I do wish they gave plastic rings for the pass-thru holes for the cables. I’m worried the backs, which are basically cardboard you nail to the back of the unit, may be damaged over time. I’m going to play with it again but I also noticed the door doesn’t sit completely straight on the hinges, there is more space between the top of the door and the side of the unit than the bottom of the door, but it’s only noticeable because I looked for it. Overall I’m really happy with it and would recommend it. Less

Decent Console But Assembly is a Pain
Assembly is a pain as none of the parts are labeled. Further, the manufacturer took the cheap easy way out on the legs. Instead of using a bracket on the bottom, then screwing the legs into the bracket, the leg bolt is instead screwed through the top of the bottom panel, to the leg. It's very easy to put the legs on wrong. I managed to assemble this by myself, but it would have been easier with two people. The only reason I rated it a 4 and not a 3 is that it is pretty cute once it's finally assembled. However, be very careful in handling it during assembly and moving because it nicks and chips easily. Worst item I've ever had to assemble. I also ordered the matching end table, but assembly was such a pain with the console that I returned the end table unopened.

For the price, I really like this TV stand. It is inexpensive but looks more expensive (as long as you don't get too close). My husband and I put it together in a couple of hours. One of the side "boards" bent to the side as we were putting it together and the laminate chipped (cracked/broke). I glued it back and decided just to live with it. Also one leg caused the unit to be unstable. I applied a felt pad and all was good.
TV Stand- Review
The item was shipped quickly. The item packaging was adequate. Every single piece has to be assembled the instructions are adequate enough to get the job done. The rear panels are cardboard, some of the screws gave me a bit of trouble. The item is delicate so it will chip easily. It does have a nice bright white color. It took me two hours to assemble it. The item is lightweight and if your looking for something compact, sturdy for your flatscreen, this will due just fine. This was my experience, I appreciated the reviews other buyers submitted, it helped me make a decision to purchase and understand it has to be assembled from scratch. I do not submit reviews for points or money, just a consumer.
Difficult Assembly
What a nightmare to put together! Getting the legs on took me no fewer than 4 separate attempts on 4 different days. The screws ended up stripping so badly that I had to go out and buy new ones. I highly recommend building this with a partner, as some steps are difficult to do alone. It's pretty, though I don't think the angle of the legs looks quite as mid-century as the pictures imply. It seems sturdy enough now that I've finally managed to put it together. You'll need size 2 and 3 Phillips head screwdrivers and a hammer to complete.

It’s a well constructed, sturdy TV stand. I chose “in white & rustic brown” combination and I love it. Its body materials are beautifully finished in shiny (yet elegant) & smooth that impressed me. I couldn’t tell what kind of surface finish would be from the description but I’m glad to decide to purchase this one. Assemble manual is pretty good and straightforward. All parts are marked with Alphabet order. Cute tools are included and also there are extra parts, come with. It looks definitely 2 or 3 times more expensive than the price here. I highly recommended.
Beautiful TV Stand - Horrendous assembly
This thing should have been fairly simple to put together, but I decided to do it by myself which was not the best idea.I don't know if it was my tools or the hardware itself but it was very difficult to screw into the wood, and I had a few stripped screws. Because of that, I wish I would have done some steps differently.I wish I would have went ahead and attached the door to the right partition before the top and everything was installed. Also once I had the legs screws in I should have attached the partitions as there are wood screws that needed to be screwed from underneath the base, in addition to the wooden dowels. I didn't do that part, so if I end up moving the tv stand in the future, I will have to remember not to pick it up from the top or else it will separate from the base.Overall, the tv stand is sturdy and looks good despite a few nail pops from me hammering in the back panel and the nightmare of attaching the door and having a slight gap at the top. With so many negative user reviews of this and other Manhattan Comfort products elsewhere online ...
With so many negative user reviews of this and other Manhattan Comfort products elsewhere online I was a bit reluctant to buy this TV stand. But I couldn't find anything else that suited my needs at this same price level so I rolled the dice--and I'm glad I did!The three biggest complaints I see about this relate to shipping damage, quality of construction, and ease of assembly and I'm happy to state that at least in my case, none of these were an issue:-Shipping Damage? This arrived in a box that was wrapped in plastic, padded with styrofoam, and reinforced on the edges with fiberboard. Sure enough there was no damage, and all parts were there. However, there were indeed a lot of scuffs and marks on the panels, most of which were easily wiped off, one had a weird yellow blotch that again I wiped off, and one corner edge had some dried glue blobs that flaked right off. I advise giving it all a once over with a rag and mild surface cleaner before assembly.-Quality of construction? This is cheap MDF furniture and in my experience things like misaligned drill holes, pieces not fitting flush, etc. are not unusual. This went together with none of those issues. It seems stable, sturdy and everything is square. Of course there are a few cost-cutting spots like screw holes that aren't countersunk, etc. but overall not bad. In terms of durability I would call it medium-duty, which is fine as I don't plan to overload it. The finish is not amazing, and I do have a feeling it could be dinged fairly easily.-Ease of assembly? I saw all these complaints of it taking forever and a day to assemble. But in fact it took me less than an hour, and if you pay close attention to the booklet illustrations and have an organized work space it shouldn't take all day for you either. I was a little apprehensive when the very first step instructed me to screw directly into the wood with no pilot hole, but I did so carefully and that was the only instance of that; the rest of the holes were pre-drilled, the instructions are visual, each unique set of parts is bagged and labelled, and the panels have unfinished edges/sides which make it obvious which way they should go. Just take your time, don't go Hulk mode over tightening things, and BE PATIENT! That's the key to putting these things together successfully. That said, here are some assembly tips:-After unpacking, keep the two large pieces of styrofoam and the two halves of the box. These will come in handy for those steps where you need to lay the unit down on one side or another.-Always visualize where the front, back, top, and bottom of the unit are; the panels are unfinished on the bottom and back sides, so knowing which way is up will help greatly in orienting things.-When installing the legs to the bottom panel, hold the leg flush against the panel while driving the screw. Before giving each screw that last turn, look at the leg straight from the short end of the panel to make sure the leg is aligned properly (it should appear to stick straight out of the panel, not at an angle), then tighten up. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! These holes are unfortunately not countersunk and you risk damaging the MDF if you do. Just tighten enough so the legs feel solid and don't wobble.-It's easiest to bolt the upright panels to the base panel if the unit is laying on its back.-When lowering the top panel onto the unit, do so carefully to make sure all dowels and screws line up with their holes. You may need to pound lightly with your palm to get the dowels to pop in; just make sure to support the bottom of the unit while doing so.-When attaching the rear fiberboard panels, lay the unit down on its face. Lay out the panels so they meet nice and square; nail down the little metal square claw pieces first to join the three pieces, then nail around the edges.-It's easiest to install the cabinet door with the unit standing on its right side, so the door can lay flat while installing its hinges to the side panel.SUMMARY: This is typical MDF furniture but I found it to be a good value, a practical unit that really looks nice. Time will tell how sturdy it really is, but so far I'm happy. I might be one of a lucky few, but I also see that in some cases it's user error, neglect, or just not following instructions. And since people tend to only review things after a negative experience, I thought I'd provide my own positive review for some balance! Less
