Style and flexibility. Such a unique design.

Beautiful but Damaged

PROS: Overall the piece is beautiful and very functional. I purchased it to go into a small office space so we could covert it to a playroom when needed, and it works great as that. Aesthetically it's very pleasing - works great for a rustic or modern room. The height of the desk is really tall, which is great if you have little kids or dogs always grabbing at you. Because of the height it can be used as a standing desk as well. CONS: It's extremely heavy and takes several hours to put together (my husband is a nuclear engineer and it took him 3 hours), although it's obviously not real wood. My problem is that it came with almost ALL of the corners damaged. I had to go on Amazon and purchase some barn-inspired metal corner protectors to cover the damage. They worked and actually look nice since it's rustic in nature, but for it being such an expensive piece of furniture, I shouldn't have to spend any more to fix damages. As a note - there are only 2 sliding doors but yet 3 compartments, so at no point can the entire shelving be closed, there will always be 1 section open (keep in mind for children), and there's no way to latch the doors either. I also thought the unit was able to be put together facing different directions, but it only goes a pictured, so make sure your layout works with it. Lastly, because of the height of the desk, a regular office chair doesn't work. You'll need to purchase a drafting chair, which generally offer significantly less design options than a standard office chair.
