The Lid Doesn't Close When You Put Files in it

I had been waiting for this beautiful decor-like (hidden) file cabinet all week and was so excited when it arrived early. I had already purchased hanging file folders and standard 3-cut tabbed folders to go inside of the hanging files. I put them in, labeled them, and then was totally dismayed to find that once you put the folders in, the lid no longer shuts. How could the manufacturer not have measured a standard file folder? My options are: don't use manila files or go to Staples and cut all 50 folders down. I almost want to return this item.

I was so excited to get this because I love the design of but it arrived already all scuffed up which was kind of disappointing and doesn’t say much for its durability.

Product received earlier than promised. Looks good in our environment.
