Not "Room Darkening" at all

Well, you get what you pay for. I should have known from the low price that these curtain panels couldn't possibly be high enough quality to do as advertised. I bought these to replace some heavy curtain panels that DO actually darken the room and have a heavy white coating or extra layer of fabric on the back, but mine are dry clean only and are more narrow. I wanted something machine washable and wider, as well as room darkening, but these just don't fit the bill. As you can see from the photo, light shines right through these thin panels, and it's worse along the folds in the fabric. I hate that I have to drive back to the store to return these, but I guess I'll have to. Just don't do it..

Basically sheers

If it was not for the curtains being the exact color I needed to accent a room, these would have been taken back to the store for a refund. There is no “room darkening” qualities whatsoever and they are basically made like sheers. They were equal to my white sheers on my other windows! The picture is from Dusk with the lights turned off. Only thing I liked about them was the color.

Nice for the Price

The color I chose was blue, but the true color was more of a bluish teal. It was find for what I used them for. These are not room darkening. The curtains blur the light which makes the room bright not light. There are imperfections in these curtains - some skipped threads, and I think they used a gray thread in the bobbin. The top thread matched the color of the curtain and the bottom thread is a dark gray. Again, for my use I didn't mind. The width measurement may be a tiny bit shorter than mentioned. I love that there are 2 panels per pack.

Eclipse curtains are good for darkening a room

Good quality! The eclipse curtains I purchased are as seen online. These curtain give you privacy and really block out unwanted light. The eclipse curtains will add character to any room, living room, dining room, bathroom, and bedroom. Be sure to measure your windows; length and width. I would most definitely recommend this product to my friends and family.

Allows lots of light through!

These are just simple rod pocket curtains. Although they block some light, they aren't really black out curtains. They are just a single layer of polyester. The blue color almost looked dark gray online and in the package, but hanging (with light shining through) they are more of a teal/blue. They are machine wash and dry.

Great value.

I really like these curtains. They greatly reduced the amount of light coming through the window, just as described. I love the fact that the panels were the same length. I've purchased curtains before at big box stores and one panel was always a little longer than the other. Drove me crazy. I love the navy color too, and was happily surprised that although the fabric seems lightweight they work very well. Plus they were easy to launder before hanging.

Pretty...but not really "Room Darkening"

The blue is very pretty. That's about it. It really doesn't darken the room all that much. There is no real panel behind it to make it so. Other room darkening curtains I have purchased have either a thicker coating or black panel. This is kind of sheer. It did darken the room SOME, and it's better than the poly curtains I had up, but this is not a true darkening curtain. Not bad for the price, but just not the effect we were looking for. More like a room "shading' curtain.

Not as pictured at all

I ordered four of these curtains in Stone, which is shown to be a rich, medium dark color, sort of between brown and gray. The curtains were that color on the BACK. The curtain fronts were a shiny pale color sort of between palest ivory and palest gray. Looked sick against my white walls. I've already shipped them back. In all fairness, both that cost and my original shipping cost should be refunded, as they were not anyway close to the color advertised. And the packages were labeled stone, too. What a waste of time and effort.

Great price and good quality for teenagers room

For the price these curtains cant be best! I've had a brown pair hanging in my daughter's room for years and they've worn well with washings and re-hanging. Holding their shape and performance well over time. These new real colored drapes that I have purchased are sewn together well and block the light fairly well but obviously not as well as the brown does. They have a dark backing so if that is going to bother you, you may want to look for something else. But that's what keeps the light out, therefore they're just plain drapes! I hung mine with drapery clips and they fall beautifully. I also steamed them without any issues and the wrinkles fell right out. The color is true to what it looks like in the photo. Again, the price cant be beat for a teens room!

Not what I expected but.......

Nice material, good length, nice color. However there are a couple of thing that future customers should know about.

Don’t Do It!!!

These are NOT what I was expecting, NOT as descriped. You’re not blocking much light, saving energy, or blockong noise with these things. They are opeque, so when light shins through, yes through, them you can see the figure or exact outline of what’s behind them. They are one satin sheen like (100% polyester) layer of cheap. No lining, they look nothing like the image shown. They ONLY plus is that they are cheap, but they’re cheap in every aspect.

I love my new curtains

I had always wanted purple curtains and couldn't find any locally that I liked. I was concerned because of other reviews, but I took a chance and ordered these. The color is a darker purple that the picture online looks to me, but that didn't bother me. I love purple. I was a little concerned because they are a little small. A set of two pair just barely covers my double bedroom window. I wanted to use them without blinds and wanted privacy. I have checked both day and night to see whether you can see in, and you can't. I also didn't want black-out curtains because I want to wake naturally with a little sunlight coming in. Since the curtains don't wrap around on the ends there is room for just enough light to come in. These are just what I wanted. I am well pleased. If you want more coverage I suggest buying two sets for double windows or one set for one standard size window.

Excellent product!!

I love these curtains! They are made of high quality materials and are machine washable and dryer safe! They have just the right amount of light block and are thermal curtains so they really save on the heat bill as all window drafts are now GONE!!!! I would highly recommend them ...for the money they are an unbelievable buy!! Others of comparable quality sell for close to *** a pair...compared to less than *** for a pair of these. They come as single panels so you never have to buy a pair when all you want is one! Great deal all the way around!!!

A little thin, and the dimensions are flipped

Color named "Panther" is actually called "Black" on the sticker on the packaging. Dimensions seem flipped: "Assembled Product Dimensions (L x W x H)" for mine are 52x63x0.25, but they are NOT 52" long - they're 52" wide (26" per panel). I can deal with too long, but not too narrow. I need another pair to completely cover window, with some (aesthetic) bunching, I guess.

Disappointed

The color is very pretty, but just be aware that the 52" width that they give in the description is for both panels together. Individually they are only 26" wide. I ordered these thinking they were 52" each based on one of the answers in the Q&A section, but I was very disappointed when they arrived and didn't fit my window. Now I have to return them because they don't fit and I'm having to pay for the return shipping, which is really disappointing when I went off of information from the website. I'm writing this review in hopes that it will save someone else the headache. Also, as others have noted, "room darkening" might be a bit of an overstatement; I'd say they're more like "light filtering" instead.

save your money...

This was not the best purchase I've made. The color looks off in person- which is sometimes the case but this was way different. Not light blocking. I chose a darker color because I know the lighter it is the less light they block and it doesn't drown out sound nor light. On top of it all, one of the panels arrived with a snug before I even put it up. I was not happy with this purchase. I thought they were a but thinker. They seem a little too transparent. Without any blinds behind the curtain, in daylight, you can see right into my room.

[Rewarded Review] Nice curtains

Bought the gray and they look nice. Bought two panels per window. They blackout well for the price but I needed white sheers behind them to make it the most dark I could. Used them in baby's room and our master. It's so dark in our baby's room now that during the daytime nap our baby monitor goes into night vision mode so I can still see him. Anyone who knows those cameras it's sometimes hard to get night vision unless it's pitch black outside. These curtains make it dark enough for that camera setting so I'm very happy with our purchase. Also helps baby to sleep longer in the morning without waking with the sun.

Much better than expected

You know, after reading a lot of reviews of this product, I was really surprised about how nice these curtains are. Yes, true, they are 100 % blackout material. They will definitely darken the room and are good for privacy though. I bought the midnight and they are the super dark purple/maybe even navy color that they look like online. The material does have a sheen. But they are not cheap looking. They are light in weight but they don't look it. I recommend these.

NOT blackout!

The description for these curtains are completely inaccurate. I thought I was sent the wrong item based on what I was expecting! Admittedly, they were a great price so I should have known it was too good to be true. These are very cheap looking, shiny, and BARELY block light. I'd almost describe them as sheers. And one panel is just over 2 feet, NOT 52 inches as described. My five year old thinks they're great though, so we are keeping them. Absolutely would not have purchased these if I had seen them in person.
