Love the look, not the leaking

When I first received the olive oil bottle, the spout was rusty, on the inside and outside. I spoke with customer service(who are always courteous and helpful) and after sending pictures, I was sent another spout but it was in a padded envelope that looked like someone had stepped on it and the thin metal around the base of the spout was almost bent in half. But since it was thin, I was able to straighten it, somewhat. I will eventually buy a spout that is heavier and has a flap over the end. BUT my main issue now is that olive oil is slowly seeping out of the unglazed ring at the bottom of the bottle. And no, it is not that I used it and oil dripped down the side. I made sure of that. My husband noticed it first and told me that it was leaking but I thought, like I'm sure customer service is thinking right now, "oh, I just dripped some down the side and it ran underneath." NOPE, not what happened. I was careful to clean every bit of oil off of the bottom AND where it left a significant round puddle on my counter, set it back down, DID NOT USE IT, and the next morning had the same round puddle on my counter and the unglazed ring is tremendously oily and that doesn't wipe off. I have dishes that are completely glazed, without leaving the ring at the bottom, so it doesn't make sense to me that this bottle couldn't have been completely glazed so it wouldn't seep oil every day. I now have it on a coaster, just so my counter top isn't always oily. I LOVE my Santorini dishes and love this olive oil bottle but for what it costs, it shouldn't leak and it should have a more substantial spout that is indicative of the quality that this brand is known for.
