Poorly machined latch

I bought two of these. The first one worked fine. The second one would not move once the latch was screwed in. After comparing the two, I realized it wasn’t that the screws are too big, but that the latch was machined with too little room to slide over them. The first one worked fine with the same screws.

Screws provided are incorrect

I bought three of these and had to return them all. Like others have mentioned, the screws that came with the latches don’t work on the slider as once installed the latch will not slide back n forth anymore. It’s like the counter sink wasn’t done right in the track or the screws provided are incorrect as the heads stand too proud of the track and interfere with the sliding operation. Essentially it’s useless without the right screws. Very frustrating. Also tried to drill one of the tracks to counter sink the head further and the material is so thin my drill blew through it so fast I almost hit my head into the wall. Lol

The screws, once place, prevent the bolt from sliding, despite the countersink. The heads of the screws are too big. This is a obsolete product.

Why are the screws to big?

I’d you use the screws that come with the latch, the bolt won’t move. The latch gets blocked by the head of the screws. Makes no sense.

This bike is poorly constructed. The slide barely moves without the screws but when screws are in, even though recessed the bolt will not slide.

Both sets of this item that we purchase were missing parts in the package or were defective. We intend to return it for a refund. One appeared to have been machined improperly, and the other had missing parts. Not pleased at all.

Screws are too large

This product is useless. The crews are too large so you can’t install it.

Quality hardware, although the screws provided don't allow the bolt to slide correctly. I had to use some spare screws I had.

Do not buy!!! The screws are too large to work!!!

The screws provided are too large for the holes in the slide's base so that the screw heads block the bolt from sliding. Do not buy this product!!! It is a manufacturing defect. I tried enlarging the holes so the head would sink further down, but that did not work. One would have to get different screws to make this work. So just buy a different product.

The holes do not allow the included screws to sink in enough to be functional - this should be pulled off the shelves.

I wish the holes lined up with the one I replaced.

The provided screws were the wrong size.

Screws too large

The screws were too large for the throw bolt to slide. Had to get smaller screws to make it work. Was it a factory screw up who knows.

Wrong screws included

Came with 4 identical screws. They did not fit the bolt. The heads were too large for the bolt to slide over them. I had to find two small screws myself. Very disappointing.

Poor Design

I returned the first, and even my 2nd had the same problem. Screw doesn't go deep enough to allow the slider to pass above it. I had to route out and widen the screw hole so it would sit deeper. Very poor design.

It is a fairly nice piece of hardware with a clean and durable finish. But the provided mounting screws are too large. The head of the screw interferes with the motion of the bolt as it is larger than the countersink and will not seat flush. Do yourself a favor and buy some number five countersunk screws along with this which have a small enough head to sit within the counter sink and won’t be proud.

Total crap!. It was too stiff to use and too much hassle to return online, I just trashed it. Even with smaller screws it wouldn't slide without using pliers!!

Useless crap

will not work with the provided screws unless you grind them down with a file (or other abrasive means)
