Does not integrate with Ring well at all
I've had this lock installed on our front door for about one year.
Not compatible with MyQ
This smart lock is not compatible with the the MyQ technology used by 2 major garage door manufacturers, and the description on line did not make that clear (I am not sure if it did not disclose it at all or whether it was in inconspicuous fine print). Yale locks which appear to be very similar are sold with different modules to allow for different compatibility and the modules cannot be switched out. The lock works fine but I am left with an additional home security app to track which I did not want.
Buy at your own risk
Right out the box. Lock will not hook up to any apps and the yale rep was adamant that it wasn't the lock. He was no help other than blaming everything else. So I basically got a $200 keyless lock with no wireless features. Even tried other hubs and it wouldn't connect. Still not the locks fault though. Will be returning and going with another brand. Would have given another lock a try until the rep refused to take responsibility.
Bad customer service
My daughter bought us this lock & it's great but when I called for help to install it, I was told if I buy the chip I could use my phone. Great but the customer service was no help and it didn't work & trying to return it was a nightmare
Awesome Lockset!!
Very nice lockset. The only problem I am having is I moved into a brand new house and installed the locks and there’s a little bit of friction on the boat which keeps it from closing completely. It keeps giving a nonclosure warning.
NOT the new upgrade to 700 series with 2 security!
Bought three of these thinking they were the newer 700 series Z-wave modules that support S2 encryption and security, plus better battery life and range. NOPE. This is the same 1st generation 300 series Z-wave with only L0 protocol and no security. How can a LOCK COMPANY not release security updates for their expensive hardware!? Seriously, when you install a lockset you expect it to last 10 - 20 years. They were smart to make the lock modular, but stupid to not release updated modules. Guess they don't want repeat customers and we are going to have to find new locks for all our rental units.
worst lock for airbnb
This lock is subpar, and the support is slow. It does NOT update existing booking details if a guest changes the booking, and after a firmware update, it doesn't update at all with new bookings. False advertising.
Worst Locks
I took over 13 properties with Yale locks and literally only problems. Don’t buy them unless you want to spend hours and hours wasting your time because they disconnect from Bluetooth and wifi and etc etc. and won’t update. The amount of money I have wasted spending handyman out to reset, fix these dumb locks for the same things to happen is utterly ridiculous. I have 8 other properties with schlage encodes never had one problem. I am not one to write reviews like this, but I am beyond frustrated with the amount of time and resources that I have wasted on these dumb locks.
2 out of 3 still working for now.
Bought 3 of these locks Dec 30 2021. They worked well for a year and 8 months, then my garage lock started blinking and is non-responsive. Contacted support was bounced around in 3-4 emails answering about 7-9 questions, then told to buy a new lock because the lock was out of warranty. No troubleshooting advice, no recommendations, simply told to go buy a new lock. Taking the advice.
DO NOT PURCHASE
DO NOT PURCHASE. I've had it for less than two years and today I was locked out of my house because only the numbers on the left side were working so I was unable to put in my passcode. It wasn't a battery issue as some numbers were working. I called support and all they told me was to call a locksmith and remove it. So I spent $200 on a lock that wasn't even going to work for two years. I received no support and was stuck spending $400+ to enter my house. I'm sticking to the typical lock and key entry. And will not be recommending this brand to anyone!
I love this lock
I am a locksmith them doing installation for many different lock. This particular lock has a cool looking and it’s very strong compared to others lock.Frog-lock.com
Very high reliability
Very reliable. Using with Hubitat hub having multiple rules applied. Working great. Using Z-wave lock from Yale since 2016. No issue
Locks work well. Integrations are worst of all IOT
TLDR; buy a 3-year extended warranty and make a claim on it the millisecond your Wi-Fi bridge connector stops working perfectly.
Nice Lock
I do think purchasing this type of lock is extremely expensive and I feel like it doesn’t have to be. I do like the over all look of the lock. It’s really sleek. I am satisfied with product and service it provides over all.
Pleased with upgrade
Product works great. Only a few hiccups during installation. It would help if there were product installation directions in package that give more detailed information all at one glance.
Sleek and Efficient
It’s Great! Sleek design and better than earlier generations. Brushed nickel finish fits perfectly with our door and haven't had any problems (yet) with battery life like on our previous generation Yale Nest lock. Assure 2 is the way to go.
Wi-Fi Stopped Working After Two Years
After two years the WiFi module inside the lock stopped working. Support determined that the module went bad and I would have to buy a new one for $135. I have Schlage brand smart locks on my other properties that are many years old and still work fine. I bought Yale for my newest property thinking it was the latest and greatest tech. I won’t be making that mistake again.
less than a year and broken!
I had this for less than a year and the lock started to not working. it cant turn the bolt lock to lock the door anymore. the company doesn't accept any responsibility toward their product. waste of time and money
I have 2 other similar locks for several years with excellent performance. I installed this replacement deadbolt in about 1.5 hours replacing a mechanical deadbolt. Connected to my automation system in less than 10 minutes.
Better with yale and august!
Before I had just august, with keypad, and connect. Very sketching and went through batteries like crazy. Half the time it would not work or connect with Bluetooth. So I upgraded and purchased tge yale lock with keypad, keyless, wifi, and Bluetooth with connect. Since I purchased, I have not had any connection issues and works great.
