This handleset was installed by our contractor about seven years ago when our home was newly built. About six months ago, we noticed the finish had started peeling. Then, a week ago we came home from vacation and found the lower lock would not turn with the key. There is NOTHING more frustrating than to arrive home from the airport at midnight to find you cannot get into your house!!! After more than ten minutes of playing with the key (in the dark of night), we were able to get the lock to turn. I contacted Kwikset and they are replacing the handleset under warranty. However, I would have expected better quality from Kwikset.

Doorknob was very easy to replace

I had the same doorknob before. It is water and erosion resistant. Looks very expensive and well made.

This replaces a 10 year old similar door handle with two cylinders. Bought this handle because of the two cylinders. Smart Key makes it very easy to use the same key. Easy to install.

I installed it and learned that it is not ADA compliant. Disappointed considering all the work involved in the process. Also, I have some minor paint touch up because the lock is not exactly the same footprint as the previous fixture.

While the handle is ajustable to three different lengths I still could not get it to fit my currently drilled size for a Schlage handleset of 9.5 inches. Instead of having three predetermined lengths, wish there was somehow an infinite adjustment mechanism, The fit and finish was really nice, but had to return as it would not fit.

Easy Install, looks nice.

I loved the kit came with a template to drill the hole needed for the bottom piece - had to drill all the way through, so measure twice and keep the drill level. The installation was easy enough. I now like the satisfaction I get from depressing the latch and knowing the door is secure.
