These plates are smaller than I expected. I really would like the salad plates but they are out of stock. I was going to return them, but they are perfect for dinner rolls or for a small snack. I'm keeping them.

I've purchased an entire set of French Countryside pattern from Mikasa. Best prices with frequent sale opportunities from Mikasa online (I researched pricing through a few retailers before purchasing). My family is rather “rough” on dishes, and we have been very pleased with this pattern's thickness, durability and its classic, simple beauty. Highly recommend.

French Countryside: Great versatile pattern.

I think I have had this pattern for over 30 years and it is such a versatile pattern. You can dress it up or down. My only issue that I have had is that Mikasa says the dishes are microwave safe; however, these bread and butter plates end up cracked if I put them in the microwave. The bigger plates don't seem to have that problem; just the smaller ones. Same thing with the small bowls.
