Wonderful electric fireplace

We are really enjoying our electric fireplace. The installation process was very easy. The rough-in specs were accurate and the fireplace mounted with ease. Installing the glass was simple - only two screws. The fireplace puts out a fair amount of heat - not going to heat the entire room - but you can certainly feel the heat. I’ve got a 4 year old and 2 year old and my primary concern was the heating element. The front of the fireplace does not get extremely hot and is safe to the touch. Aesthetically, it is very pretty and my kids enjoy the “flames” change colors. It’s exceeded our expectations!

Not as advertised - EXTREMELY LOW HEAT

I purchased this fireplace not only based on the reviews, but based on the description that was advertised. The description about the heat output is very misleading. It indicates the heat output at 1500 W can heat up a 400 SQFT room, which is not true. Touchstone's description clearly states, "The unit can heat a room as large as 400 square feet and operates on 1,500 watts with a voltage of 120"; however, on the highest setting the output is extremely low. I honestly don't understand the point of having both a low and a high setting since the high setting performs not much differently than the low setting.
