I got this one after reading a review of food processors. It’s good and got it in sale, but I realized the new version has an attachment for dicing, which is what I intend to use it more for. (The blade it comes with tends to over process and you end up with mush too easily instead of chopped veggies.) Also no where to keep the slicers like the new one. Considering switching completely because - let’s be honest - who wants to spend time handwashing when the goal is to save time?

Powerful functional Food Processor

Purchased this unit about one month ago, and am totally surprised at the functionality and power it offers. Easy to clean, yet a very safe unit. All the blades and disks provide lots of options to produce excellent dishes and prepare vegetables and fruit. Love it, should have done it long ago.

You'd better like washing dishes by hand.

Am in agreement that this product takes more time to hand wash than it does to use as a food processor. Why in the world were ALL the pieces not made to be dishwasher safe?? We do use it almost daily and it has held up well. Also, am in agreement that you are not able to use the small bowl without some spillage into the big bowl again requiring cleaning EVERYTHING. I like to cook not hand wash more dishes than I have to.

Brand new

I just received my new Breville Sous Chef 12, I tried it with onions and carrots, it works great and is a lot quieter than my old clunker. My only question is it did not come with the accessory storage container for all the parts. I tried to look up where to buy one but couldn’t find anything. Is there one? I would love to be able to store all the parts in one container, please help!

700 W only, not 1000

I received the Breville Sous Chef 12 a few days ago. The motor is supposed to be 1000 Watts, which is why I bought it. I needed more power. However, at the bottom of the machine it says it is only 700 Watts. This could explain why it can only handle 4.5 cups nuts. My old 500 W food processor handled 3 cups at a time. I feel utterly betrayed and disappointed.

Parts availability is the Achilles Heel of Breville appliances

The unit works great, but there's a major problem with Breville: PARTS. It took forever to get a replacement top and gasket, and the blades are now "sold out" (not even noted as backordered) on Breville's site, and no one has them (only a few online parts places even list the blade). Parts availability for Breville appliances is a long-standing and persistent problem. This is the second time we have had to replace the blade, and the first time it took months. This time (July 2024) they don't even have any information about whether they'll be available. And this is a unit they've sold for years.

very nice product, especially like the adjustable slicer which saves my fingers from a mandolin. only improvement I'd make is to make it dishwasher friendly.

Expensive and works amazingly well but disappointed that the bowl is gradually falling apart

Splurged on this and it works great but the bowl is gradually breaking apart - the bottom in particular where the bowl attaches to the base. Not much left there to lock in so don't think it will work for too much longer. I don't use this a lot so surprised it breaking apart. Very disappointed given the cost of the product. Everything else seems sturdy.

Very sad. It just stop working...

I have enjoyed this appliance for some years, and suddenly stop working. I don't have the manual and I cannot get it online. I would like to know who provide technnical service, but first I would like to know how expensive is to buy fix it or better to buy a new one.

Great food processor

I am not sure how I prepped food without the Sous Chef 12. The size is perfect and I love it for shredding my cheese, prepping veggies, and chopping up chocolate bars for my cookies. It’s thoughtfully designed as are all Breville appliances and is so well made.

Power

I so love my machine although, upon reflection, wish I had spent the extra money and purchased the 16 cup. More features, etc. I erroneously purchased the 16 cup storage box and discs and, to my great dismay, found they would not fit my 12 cup.

Magic at most tasks. Meh at shredding cheese.

My favorite thing to make is chopped salad using the slicing disk: veg toppings sliced at 4 on the dial, lettuces sliced at the widest opening. Give it all a quick mix by hand and it’s ready to go.

Wish I’d bought it years ago.

Love my new Breville Kitchen Wizz. I’ve had several food processor’s over the past 40 or so years and this one is by far the best. It’s not as loud, looks good and slices and grates both fine and course. I love how it’s quieter than the cheaper brands I’ve had in the past. Makes my life easier. 🧡

Well worth the cost

First time for purchasing a food processor. After talking with others about different processors, decided to spend the money on this after reading a lot of reviews. Glad to say that so far, this has not disappointed. Powerful motor, easy to use and cuts produce very well and quickly with very uniform cuts. I like the different sized tubes for pushing the items into the processor. Very little if any leftover ends in the bowl. I do a lot of canning and freezing and salsas in the summer and fall with garden produce so will really work it then but for now am very satisfied with this machine. Just wished that it would be available with the french fry cutter and storage kit that the upgraded model has.
