I selected this Armacost transformer for my outdoor low volt lights .My prior transformer could not handle all my lights. This one is more that powerful enough for me.. Set up was easy one wire was for input and I just needed the proper plug on it. The output wire was pre-stripped for easy hook-up

I will be installing this outdoors for my (8) Armacost LED deck step lights & (3) 15ft outdoor RGBW LED strip lights. I am in the process of building the deck, so I cannot provide finished photos, but I did wire up the lights and the transformer indoors to test.

Like the title says this has a great build quality and for its size packs a full 100 watts of output power at 24 volts 4.2 amps max. The input voltage can range from 100 thru 277 AC volts, 50 / 60 Hz. Operating temperature range is from -13 to 122F.

All, this LED Transformer is being used in new application. I'm still assembling the appropriate parts necessary to start. To date I've ordered an Armacost Remote Dimmer and LED lights, neither of these parts have arrived. As I receive these items installation will begin including in the wall and attic mounting and wiring for everything. Stay tuned as most of the review is yet to come.

[Rewarded Review] Good Armacost 150-Watt 24-Volt DC LED Transformer Standard Power Supply

This Armacost 150-Watt 24-Volt DC LED Transformer Standard Power Supply came, and I thought it would be easy to hook up and review, as I already had some strip LEDs. I was wrong, and I ended up spending over $120 buying different strip LEDs, connectors, and power cord to test this product. At first I didn't think it was working, because powering it up with the aforementioned power cord, the product did not hum or vibrate...this is actually a good thing! It is nice and quiet! But, I couldn't tell if it was actually working because the LEDs I had were incompatible. So, I ordered from the Home Depot some Armacost LEDs, connectors, and was finally able to see that the unit indeed was working, and it lit up the entire 2.5m, 120LEDs/m 5000K roll I purchased immediately, and exceedingly brightly! I will eventually use these items for a garden project I am working on. I am quite sure this power supply will have the umph to light up all my LEDs in my garden room. The product does not get exceedingly warm while in use. I would like it better if it had a power switch and a dimmer. I am sure I can purchase a good dimmer for this unit from Armacost. I would recommend this unit for its power, but not as much for its no-frills switchless design.

This power supply is robust while being compact and not producing much heat under load. It does not come with a plug or a long power cord so you must connect it yourself. This isn't an issue for most do it yourselfers. The only caveat to this power supply is that you must use a low voltage dimmer in order to dim the LEDs while in use. Some of their power supplies work with triac dimmer methods which is preferable as the dimmers themselves cost less than a low voltage version. The possibilities with this power supply are endless.

[Rewarded Review] Heavy Duty LED Driver!

This is a great “little” LED driver. I put “little” in quotes because it actually is quite large, ha! And heavy, honestly. But with 200W support, you can power almost any small lighting project you would want around your home with this thing! I used it to power some lights under my kitchen cabinets, but this model is also IP66 rated for wet locations, so you can even use this for outdoor lighting as well! When I get my back yard ready, I will probably order another one of these for back there. So yes, I would order this product again. It comes with a very simple one pager instruction sheet that is straightforward to follow. Overall, I recommend this power supply if you’re looking for something to power your lighting project!

[Rewarded Review] Good buy at its price point makes easy sale for me

Shipped fast, came in nicely packaged box with no damage. I installed under back porch to run my leds around pool and on fence, going add few more used heavy gauge wire to account for volt drop and still think be able add another 5 - 10 watt lights we will see when I get to that point. Easy to wire if you no how add outlet no difference beside make sure you use outside it’s in water tight junction. Had working for about week now had head back down Florida work on family vacation house. All and all nice product don’t have anything bad say works as I needed it to.

[Rewarded Review] Heavy duty power supply

The case is all extruded aluminum with heat sink fins and mounting tabs. Grommets are used for the cables to enter the case. There is no need to open the case for installation or wiring. Remember all connections must be made in a safe and approved manner using an appropriate junction box or enclosure. I like that this can be used in almost any input power application from 100-240VAC. Pay attention to the use of dimmer switches if your application requires this, only certain types are compatible. The no load voltage was measured at 24.06VDC when powered from 120VAC. This is well within the tolerance of quality LED lights. The outdoor rating doesn't mean this can be mounted in an area exposed to heavy rain, it should be protected from the weather as the case is only water resistant, not waterproof. This will be used to light basement steps with LEDs under the front edge of the steps. This power supply is the perfect rating to do all the steps.

[Rewarded Review] Well-made 24-volt DC LED Power Supply But Might Not Be Suitable for Outdoor Us

I’m installing a large array of LEDs that I plan to power from a single power supply. The Armacost 24-volt, 200-watt power supply should have all the power needed to run my large kitchen over-cabinet, under-cabinet, and kick-space lighting. Note that this is a 24-volt power supply - make sure your LEDs are rated for 24-volt DC operation. The actual output voltage of my power supply was 23.2 volts, as shown on the multimeter in the photos. That’s certainly close enough to 24-volts for this type of project and power supply. An important feature for me was the fact that no minimum current draw is required for this power supply. I performed a test to verify the claim because I wanted to have a single indicator LED to ensure I knew power was being provided to my array. My LED installation includes a custom controller to sequence between off, over-cabinet lights only, under-cabinet lights only, kick-space lights only, or all on. For the verification test, I used a single blue LED (forward voltage drop of 3.3 volts) with a 2.2K ohm series resistor. The calculated current flow for this circuit is approximately 9 milli-amps. As can be seen in the pictures of the lighted blue LED, the supply is capable of powering very small loads. Externally, the power supply looks well-constructed. It also has several different mounting tabs to make it easy to mount to virtually any surface. One thing to note is that the AC input and DC output cables are only 9.5-inches in length, but typically it will be used in an installation with custom wiring so that’s not really an issue. A better arrangement would have been a design with input and output connectors of some sort (no cables) while still maintaining the outdoor (IP66) rating. My examination reveals that the rubber grommets where the power cables penetrate the case don’t appear to be water-tight, especially the white AC input cable (slightly loose in the grommet). If used outdoors, it should be installed in a location away from direct exposure to rain or irrigation water, or a small dab of silicone sealant could be applied to the cable penetrations. Overall, this is a quality-built power supply with a potential issue related to the outdoor rating. I have absolutely no reservations using it in my indoor installation. If the internal quality is as good as the external quality, it should be a great addition to my kitchen LED lighting.

[Rewarded Review] Super Easy To Install ~ Works Great For Multiple LED Light Panels

I got this for a number of LED light panels that are going in a dropped ceiling and didn't want to have to have to buy multiple power supplies for each panel. This power supply will operate up to 200 watts of panels or individual LED fixtures. Always remember to follow proper polarity connections and also do not run high voltage and low voltage wires in the same conduit or outlet box. They must be kept separated at all times. Installation is very easy and polarity is easy to follow with Black & Red being Negative and Positive.

Wow, This power supply for a twelve wole led light kit is very nive and works really well. The transformer will mount to a wall easly with the opening for mounting screws. Also with the alumim fram it disapater heat realy and quickly. You can either attach a wall plug in to the input or you can direct wire it to the AC power.You will have plentyof power to run LED light strings for a long time

[Rewarded Review] Good for at least 30 foot run of LEDs

This 24v DC 60w power supply works great. There is not much to installing it as long as you read the label. It is clearly marked with positive and negative for the output. The input is also labled with color and weather its load or neutral. Unfortunately i cant show you the outcome due to my LEDs only half working. It also fell in the pool and continued to work. That is not the power supplies fault. It seems strong enough to run a 30 foot run of color LEDs. And its compact size of 2.5 inch by 5.5 inch means you can hide it in many places.

Power supply hardwired and in and attached to armacost rgbw w/wireless controller, all attached in parallel with 8 rgbw puck lights. Well built, works great. More power supply than needed right now, but expecting to add more in the future.

This transformer is easy to install and connect to the Armacost LED tape lighting. The only thing to be careful of is to match the transformer watt rating to the power needs of the LED tape lighting being installed.
