Power supply is well designed and more robust than the one it replaced. I'm highly pleased with all aspects of the purchase experience.

Decent led driver, needs corded prong

Advertised specs are accurate, it runs at 12.03 to 12.05 V and can deliver the full rated 30 W. Does not come with a 3 pronged cord, and that is a little annoying for most installations., Unless you are doing some special built-in installation for new builds or something.

Well made and Durable

The Armacost Lighting 12V, 30 watt indoor/outdoor LED power supply was just what I needed to replace the original power supply on my front landscaping well light. It appears to be very well made with an aluminum case and is IP67 rated for wet locations. It’s operating temperature is -13 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit making it very suitable for outdoor use. It has a small compact design measuring approximately 5 1/4” L x 1 3/4” W x 1” H. I am very happy with it and just need to mount it permanently and waterproof the connections.

Quality feeling power supply

don't see why one couldn't also wire up a grounded plug to make the unit more portable. The output side has the expected black/red wires for your load device/LEDs. Rated output is 8.3A max and 100 watts with UL listing and ROHS compliance so there is some safety built into it. It also comes with a 3 year warranty which is useful for a power supply. At least better than 1 year. The manual says to use with only Armacost lighting dimmers.

Great power supply, in a very small package.

I got this transformer to power some landscape lights that are going to be installed in a retaining wall.

Perfect for LED setups

This power supply will safely run 2 full strings of LED lights. This unit powers 2 sets of LEDs that are located on my pier and this unit has done an excellent job of keeping them running. Just wire it to a 115Vac power cord and the output to any 12vdc object you need 60watts or less to operate. I Installed the unit in a water tight box that is turned on and off by a dust till dawn switch. It's been installed about a week and has worked perfectly. It replaced a smaller unit that failed within a week.

THE supply for Armacost lighting!

When your installation requires real heavy duty power for those strip lights, this is it! First of all it can go anywhere, inside, outside or in between. So you can use it for the strip lights around the kitchen, around the bath or outside around the deck. Super easy to install with screw ears and only four wire install. Can handle a large load up to 100 watts. No special considerations with this supply. Compact design allow for install just about anywhere.

Do you have things that run on 12vdc ? Need more juice than those plug in cubes provide ? Something weather tight ? Or something that can be hard wired to your home's AC and controlled by a wall switch ? This may well be your answer. For my application I wired it to a standard AC cord input and a separable connection DC output. That way it's portable and I can connect various 12vdc applications. The unit's exterior is well made. You'll have to source the connections depending on your utilization.

This Armacost 12volt 100-watt power supply performs well

This Armacost 12volt 100-watt power supply is rated IP66 for wet locations. It is not compatible with 120-volt dimmers. A special dimmer must be used if desired. The dimensions are approximately 7 1/4 long by 2 3/4 wide by 1 3/8 deep. The mounting tabs extend about 7/6 from each end. The weight comes in quite hefty at 2 lbs. 3.2 oz. on my scale. I tested the voltage with no load and it came in at 12.1 volts. The votage remained virtually unchanged under a modest load so it appears that the voltage regulation works well. There are pigtails for both the AC and low voltage side. This is my second Armacost power supply. The other one is installed in a cabinet for under cabinet LED lighting and has performed flawlessly for many years. I expect this one will do the same. My planned use for this is outdoor holiday lighting.

Great driver for decorative outdoor lights

We recently purchased four 10w outdoor LED spotlights, and needed a good driver to run them. This driver does the job and handles the total 40w with ease. You need to have basic electrical skills but otherwise it's very simple to hook up. The driver itself has a good heat sink to dissipate any heat while it's powered up. The wires have a nice thick outer sleeve to keep the weather out, and it has plenty of power. I connected a plug to the black wire side so i can just plug into an outdoor receptacle. The white wire side connects to the outside wires going to your lights. And because it's weatherproof you can just drop it right on the ground. It has mounting areas to attach somehwere if you like, but this works just fine for me.

A reliable, stable power supply, which can handle severe outdoor elements

Armacost makes a great power supply. I have a mix of brands throughout my house. I use them to control exterior 12v lighting, such as, landscape lights, spot lights, accent lights, etc. I have Armacost power supplies both indoor and out. The outdoor units are exposed to intense Florida heat, rain and humidity. I have not had any problems with them in over 5 years. This one doesn't have a plug, so it can be wired directly, but I usually attach a plug and use it plugged into a smart plug (which lets me control the lights attached to it). Regarding landscape lighting the newer LED lights virtually eliminate the concerns of voltage drop, etc. In any case I always run the highest gauge direct bury pure copper wire and have not had any problems for 100 to150 feet span. The Armacost power supply still provides at least 12 volts at the end of my longest span. Overall, Armacost makes a stable, reliable power supply which I count on to power my many 12v systems around my house.

This is an excellent, high quality transformer that is ideally suited to be hardwired into a 12 volt LED lighting system. It is designed to be installed inside an electrical junction box and offers dual 12 volt power outlets allowing the user to split the load evenly on expanded systems. I tested the transformer using a grounded three prong Leviton temporary plug and it shows a constant 12 volt power output. I am now using it to power an extended system of bollard LED pathway lights that each draw a max of 5 watts along with flood filler lights. The results are outstanding. Unlike many " weather resistant" transformers on the market, this one is "wet rated".

This transformer is commercial quality, built to last, should stand up to the most demanding conditions. At 200 watts with a dual tap and IP66 it will satisfy most residential if not commercial needs for this type of transformer. I soldered a plug onto the end of it, so I can simply plug it in to a smart plug and put it on a schedule to run my landscape lighting, motion lights or backyard flood lights, etc (all being 12 volt LED). With the advent of LED lighting the wattage has dropped tremendously, so this would be way more than adequate for almost any residential challenge. It's very heavy, so keep that in mind when sizing it to meet the requirement.
