Canning

I have a set and purchased this as a gift for my daughter. I use my set all the time for canning and she wants to learn, so what better way then to buy a set for her.

Keep it out of the dishwasher and pour coffee over sink!

I put mine in the dishwasher after having used it for about a month. It completely took off the finish and the unit did not look safe to use because every time you touch it, it would leave your hands covered in "stuff"...

does the trick

I've never used a stove-top version of an espresso maker before, so I needed more than what was printed on the box for instruction. I learned the first time I used this that you'd better not fill the filter all the way and make sure you get a good seal or you just get water flowing out of the bottom, no coffee, and 20 minutes of your life spent waiting that you'll never get back.

ok, but not great

not all of the water comes up from the bottom chamber - I have been trying different things but it seems the water pressure is not sufficient

Espresso Done as it was Intended

When Espresso was invented by the Italians in the 19th century, this was how it was made. Low pressure ensures that the oils (which cause bitterness) stayed in the grounds and not in the espresso. For an incredibly rich and strong espresso with little to no bitterness, a stovetop espresso machine is essential. Modern high pressure espresso makers push the bitterness right into the brew, making it bitter.
