I would not purchase this again!

I purchase this magnifying stand to be able to cut my own toe nails. The idea is good, but the reality with this product, it doesn't work. The biggest problem is the magnifying section does not stay in the position you put it. The crookneck bending and "adjustable" section has a mind of its own and won't stay in the position you put it. Unfortunately, the position it favors is sideways......not conducive to seeing anything!! It's difficult to put together from the beginning ( takes two people ). It is heavy, creates good balance, but moving around for an older person is tougher. I've tried many times to twist the crookneck into position to use, only to watch it move to a sideway position. I'm, sadly, sending it back.....meanwhile looking for one that works.

I got this as a present for my 17 yr. old grandson. He has a 3D printer and needed better lighting and some magnification for his work with it. It apparently was easy enough to put together since they did it the next day. It has the best magnification of all that I looked at in online searches. The only downside I saw was that it was shipped in just the manufacturer's packaging and the tape on that was partly torn when it arrived at Home Depot to be picked up.

Skip the glasses

This is the perfect height and level of magnification. The light is exactly what I need. I can skip wearing glasses when I use this. It's helped me read not only books but also my phone. So far it's got no negatives- I'll update if anything changes.

Purchased for 96-year old mother with macular degeneration.

Purchased for 96-year old mother with macular degeneration. Had help to assemble it. Likes the lamp and magnifying but finds the pole wobbly and tipsy. Worried it will fall over. Disappointed that the structure of the lamp is not more solid.

Positional magnification tool for reading; craftwork

Elderly mother has decreased vision related to cloudiness of lens post cataract surgery 30 years ago; and early macular degeneration. This magnification lamp has given back her joy of reading books; recipes.

Don't fall for it!

Got scammed out of 20 bucks for free shipping. They had the gall to offer a $20 coupon on my next purchase. What nerve. The item was overpriced cheap plastic. I'll never buy from these cons again!

Extremely Disappointing

Made very cheaply! Falls over at the least provocation then the pole comes out of the base very easily. But it is not so easy to put back together if you are not extremely careful the pole will sever the cord, and as I am 75 it is impossible for me to get on the floor to set it right again! Any suggestions?

Wanted to like it...

Putting this together has been a nightmare. I thought it was together then after moving in to the craft room lamp pole fell apart. Still have not got it in place. Sadly has been extremely difficult

Stand Falls Over

The pole is not centered in the base, so it tilts over to the side when the light is repositioned. The design is faulty. Mine worked fine originally, but with continued use, the sections of the pole would not hold together when I tilted the magnifier light up, down, left, or tight. I even tried to brace the pole, but it did not work. Buyer beware.

No

This lamp appeared to be the answer to my problems until I used it for a while. First of all, the pole is not centered on the base, so it tends to fall over. Secondly, when I try to bend the pole to accommodate my need to focus directly on a book or paper, the sections of the pole come unscrewed, causing it to collapse. The weight of the lamp is quite heavy, so you would think it would be sturdy, but the design is not good.
