I love, love, love this greenhouse! I was able to put it together by myself and, with the help of a greenhouse heater, had great success in starting seeds in the Spring and over-wintering my ferns and other sensitive plants, such as Jasmine. Great purchase and all of my friends want one now, too!!
Satisfied
Once challenging assemble is complete. Appears solid enough. Has to be anchored well, very light (can be moved with two people. Good value for the price.
I would not recommend it, but it works.
It's not terrible. After it is all together, it is fairly sturdy. It would not last a winter though. I plan to put it under cover every winter. In my opinion it is overpriced for the quality of materials and how it goes together. It was a struggle and a few frustrating spots to put together, and I know my way around building things. I don't recommend it if you don't have plenty of patience to put it together or if you want something of high quality. I would not buy it again at this price.
Great little Green House
This went together pretty easy, the instructions are clear. The quality of the build feels good the panes are just corrugated plastic, I paid approx $750 before taxes and shipping that was listed as a $300 dollar discount not sure how I would feel about it had I paid full price.
Not rated for what it says
Do not buy this greenhouse is you're area gets even wild wind. A few of my panels blew off at 40km/hr winds. Now we got 80km/hr winds (greenhouse is rated for 90) and my greenhouse is gone. Spend a bunch of money and time setting it up. I went above and beyond their installation recommendations even cementing the base into the ground and cross bracing all of the panels. The material all the structural components are made of are very thin.
Wisconsin winters can be horrific. Extreme temps, winds and heavy snow. We bought this for our tiny senior dogs who cannot tolerate the cold. What a lifesaver lol
Would not recommend
This is made out of flimsy aluminum and plastic. I am experienced with vertical and horizontal construction, while the instructions were fairly easy to understand the material and methods of putting things together we’re not structurally sound. Sidewall supports sit on top of the flimsy aluminum frame attached only by one bolt. When the wind blows even a little bit, the side wall supports will sway and will wear out the support holes on the flimsy aluminum frame, causing the side panels to tip.
It is set up and is really beautiful. I built shelves for it. I cannot wait till it is just a little bit warmer to get seeds going and things growing in it. I wish the diagram with the parts breakdown was a bit better, as I have left over items that are more than a few nuts, bolts and screws.
Put some extra work into this.
Bought this on another site but no option to include pictures so other people have some ideas moving forward.
3 panels were damaged at the factory; the box was fine, so it was not shipping damage. Picture is misleading, there are no side braces in the design. 5 of the panels are half thickness and far weaker than the rest. 4 of the plastic brackets should be metal, they rip when barely tightening bolts (no washers included to protect them). Window mechanism flimsy. Extremely complicated assembly, cannot be put together if even a breath of wind. I am a Mechanical Engineer, and don't expect this will survive a Newfoundland winter, all these problems could have been accounted for in the design.
From an incorrect parts list and poor assembly illustrations construction took longer than expected and was especially frustrating.
I received the Mythos 6x4 greenhouse as a gift. On going through the parts list item #993 was in fact labeled #893. There were 4 pieces of item #256, however, illustrations online and the assembly instructions clearly show the greenhouse built with 8 of these pieces. This is misleading advertising! During attachment of the ridge, item #977 along the peak of the greenhouse I realized there were drilled holes on just one side. Assembly instructions, pp 29-31 clearly show that there should be pre-drilled holes on both sides of item #977 and should be secured with the corresponding number of nuts and bolts. What did I do? I drilled the appropriate holes in item #977. Illustration (b) on page 44 does not correspond to the window for the Mythos 6x4 greenhouse. I have never encountered a product with such poor assembly instructions and parts that were either incorrectly labeled or not as illustrated.
Great greenhouse!
Made in Israel. You can tell cause the directions actually make sense. Good quality, won’t rust and fall apart after a couple seasons. Directions were fairly easy to follow. I put it together by myself. I would suggest help with a couple parts but it’s manageable single handed with a little ingenuity. Like any structure, make sure your base is flat and level. There’s a lot of parts and pieces and seems overwhelming looking at all the parts laid out but follow instructions step by step and take your time. Took me a couple days methodically putting it together. A couple of “how the hell do I get this panel in there” head scratching moments and looking at instructions again and oh there it is. It’s sturdy once all together. It won’t stand up to hurricane of course, so secure it down. I’m on the west coast and it blows pretty good sometimes. I put heavy metal shelves inside 2 of the corners. Tucked in tight for added stability incase of storms. I don’t expect any issues. Gutters are a surprise added bonus and work surprisingly well. I wouldn’t want to take it apart and put together again but it’s light enough to lift and move if you slid a couple 2x4s under the walls to lift it. I would purchase again.
Took my time to set the base square and flat. Worth it as it made the rest of the assembly go smoothly. I did add some sturdier, thicker aluminum bars for corner bracing which worked well. I also recommend putting glue at the bottom of the seal strip on the door to keep the strip from slipping down out of the door. It’s been two years now and I love every minute of my time with my greenhouse!
A lot shorter than it appears in photos which was a disappointment after assembling and all the nightmare of dealing with the distributor for 6 months. Shelving on the sides not ideal over 3.5 foot tall!!! The actual height is the door and is best used by a shorter person. I graze my head walking through it and I am 5'10.5"! So much for wearing a gardening hat. Not to mention its elevated with the bottom frame so its easy to trip over by 4 inches. You will have to make a step up to prevent hurting yourself carrying heavy things in and out of the greenhouse. Also the door does not stay shut in wind. Other than that it held up fine to the 50mph winds we just had. My only gripe is that the company Wayfair goes through for the product shipping is the absolute worst in customer service. We ordered this in August of 2022 and it took until February 2023 to get a complete order to assemble, the original order never arrived so they sent a second order which arrived 1.5 months later badly damaged and many of the pieces were broken. Instead of taking the damaged order in full (it may not have been a new item but a resold item, very hard to tell, the box was so beat up) and replacing it with a whole brand not damaged new order straight from the manufacturer we went back and forth figuring out the individual pieces to get the replacement pieces on and those being sent separately (one piece was on back order for 3 months - come on, really!) which all in all took 5.5 MONTHS to get a complete assembly ready product . It took another 2 weeks to get the thing assembled because its hard to find someone to assemble this thing for less than we paid for the actual greenhouse nowadays (if you can assemble furniture its no different with this). Glad to say this greenhouse was finally built in 8 hours by a professional for under $200 once all the pieces finally arrived around Valentines Day 2023. 6 months later and a little late to prep for spring and certainly late for pre-Autumn 2022, but at least the nightmare is over. I would recommend not getting this as the distributor was the worst experience. I have bought two things off Wayfair and so far its been 50-50 on a happy customer situation. I will be giving Wayfair another chance but very weary of ordering things that you have to assembled, especially if there is a nature based deadline or that come in so many pieces that could be easily damaged during shipping and warehousing.
Blew apart in 50KM winds
Put it together, was very simple. Even went above and beyond for the base. A month later we got 50km winds resulting in 3 panels and their associated parts missing; furthermore, the whole greenhouse was bent and twisted. The door won't close properly now either. The company is working with me to get replacement parts (I still have to pay shipping cost) but it doesn't fix the door bent and twisted structural parts. I've placed a tarp over it in the mean time but the bending and warping keep getting worse. I'll have to search for a replacement greenhouse elsewhere.
Extremely flimsy and and not made to withstand wind above 15 to 20mph. My green house is shifting constantly even though it is anchor to cement. Doors and parts of the frame is separating. This is more temporary than permanent. I only like the fact that it is light weight and can be install with one person, which I did with no issues.
When I tell you that this is a challenge to put together! Believe me! I am a woman and I put this green house together with some help from my mom there are no reading directions only pictures. That’s not a big deal you just have to pay attention to the details and take your time! My best advice I took for this greenhouse is lay out everything meaning all components to your greenhouse and organize them. That was my saving grace! All you have to do is put it together. It took me 3 weeks to put it together by myself. I just took my time and paced myself! It is a little flimsy before you put everything together but once it’s up it is very sturdy! I love it my plants love/need it and if you can’t put your greenhouse in the ground with bolts like me because of sooo many rocks just get the anchoring kit it works as well hope this helps someone!
Just finished putting this greenhouse together. Once up, it doesn't seem too bad. But the instructions are terrible. Illustrations only, and then not always very helpful. We also had two parts that were damaged, and not through shipping. One part was a side of the door track which was severely bent and twisted at one end. We know it wasn't done in shipping because the damage was done before it was painted. The other damaged part was useable but still annoying.
This is great quality for the price.
Not for the faint of heart
Not for the faint of heart. It took 3 relatively handy and intelligent people about 15 hours to assemble. As others have noted, the instructions are all only in pictures. It works fine most of the time, but there are definitely steps that are unclear and pieces that have structural bits of uncertain significance. Sometimes those bits are really important and sometimes they are not. Sometimes the instructions call them to your attention and sometimes not. I'm happy with the product now that it's together, but I can't understand how 2 people can put this thing together (correctly) in only 5 hours, unless they've done it several times before.
