Rock Solid
I looked everywhere for a place to store my vinyl LPs but they were way over priced or poorly designed.
Nice looking finished wood
I don't believe it's solid wood like advertised, I think it's a veneer over particle board, putting in screws seemed like the wood was too soft inside than what real solid wood should have been, the screws would go in with just my fingers! Assembly is a pain for one person, by myself it was a 5-hour project, with hundreds of small parts. Hole alignments were off a bit on the top shelf board, it took force for the pins to go into the holes. The back panel screws need washers not supplied.
It’s beautiful and looks great on our stair landing. We have all our hats, gloves and scarves for winter in 12x12 baskets in each cubby. Assembly was easy with 2 people except guide holes to put back on were missing. We didn’t end up wanting back on in the end anyway.
The fit and finish here are severely lacking. See photos. There's gaps all over the place, the rabbet for the back panel was cut way too close to the edge and it broke, and it's assembled using metal cam locks that stripped with only a little force.
It is a lovely piece of furniture once it was finished. It is definitely a two person job. We were on backorder for a month, so when we ran into a few manufacture problems we decided to keep it and make it work. I believe ours was the exception based on other people’s reviews. We gave it a 4 because of some of the holes were off and the top piece of word was badly pieced together. Once finished it is a lovely bookcase.
This bookcase is really attractive and simple. I like that it has solid wood. I think it will serve our space pretty well. Just two reasons I wouldn’t give it 5 stars
The bookcase looks as it does on line-- we got the light oak color and it's fine. Buyers should know the stain is uneven so it looks darker in some places than in others. The lip on the back edge means the top fits snugly to the wall over the baseboard, which is nice. It seemed smaller than I anticipated, but it will look nice when fully loaded. Our biggest concern was that two experienced patient adults had a hard time putting it together because of the number of holes that have to be aligned in the final steps. Not sure what can be done, but a third pair of hands helped a lot at the end. We also opted to paint the backing boards white before we put them on (the wall behind is white) because the color wasn't quite the same as the shelves, and white makes things pop a little more in the cubbies. We are very happy with the two we bought.
Purchased 2 of these in the distressed gray and they are beautiful. Medium gray with browns so have a lot of depth to the look of the wood. And they tie in really nice with my stone fireplace. Lots of room for my books, photos and other stuff. Thought because they were solid wood that they would have been put together with real screws like other solid wood bookcases I’ve purchased from Wayfair but these have the cam bolt assembly which I’m not a fan of because it just leaves those ugly open holes. Fortunately they are not too noticeable due to their position on the shelves. Overall, very sturdy and they look really nice. I was able to assemble by myself in about an hour.
Some of the holes where the screws go into the back of bookcase did not line up, therefore the back could not be secured. On rear panels only one has three holes at top and bottom remaining two panels only have two holes on top and bottom. Please refer to your manual. It calls for three at each end. This was not solid wood as stated. Two chips in shelves. One chip actually had metal coming through it. Husband was very disappointed in the quality.
Pretty and solid. This unit is plenty roomy and pretty heavy duty as well - not wobbly! It's sitting in a closet in our office, as the bins are VERY useful for organizing and storing all our office supplies. Already loaded up and fully functioning. I do have to say that putting it together is "tricky" at best. Better have two people. It can get frustrating at points. All in all though, it's up and running, and it's working out well.
We purchased this cube bookcase in the light golden brown color. We chose it because it is solid wood and had good reviews. The bookcase is a beautiful color (pics attached), extremely sturdy, and was well packaged to protect the wood. It took 2 of us about 2 hours to assemble and the only tough part was the screws that hold in the back. There is a significant varnish odor, but it is improving with time. Would definitely buy again.
While it was not the easiest thing to put together, it also sure wasn't the most difficult. I think the price is great given that it isn't particle board. It isn't the heaviest, nicest wood you've ever seen either, but this also means that you'll be able to move this bookcase around when you need to. I like the sleek look.
Absolutely perfect for storing LPs well. Cubbies are the perfect size with room to spare and the bookcase cleverly built and made of solid pine so the weight of the LPs shouldn't be an issue. Only one thing - the manufacturer could make the screw holes for the side walls, top and bottom shelves a bit easier to screw into than they are. Since you're not supposed to use a power drill, the holes are rather snug to use with a manual screwdriver and in a few cases the black top finish chipped off near the holes because of the struggle. The chipping can't be seen, so it's fine. Otherwise the item is just perfect for this purpose and the price was just right, especially given how expensive audiophile LP cabinetry can be.
